성인지적장애인의 그림책 읽기 체험에 대한 현상학적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 성인지적장애인 ‘그녀’의 그림책 보기 체험에 관한 현상학적 탐구이다. 그녀의 그림책읽기 체험을 이해하기 위한 분석의 시도로 이 연구에서는 반 매넌이 현상학적 물음과 반성을 위한 생산적 범주로 제시한 생활세계의 네 가지 실존체인 체험된 공간, 시간, 관계, 신체의 축을 통해 분석하였다. 연구결과 체험된 공간은 ‘자기만의 장소, 그들만의 공간’, ‘삶의 공간’, ‘상징적 공간’, 체험된 시간은 ‘몰입의 순간’, ‘전환과 변화의 리듬’, ‘상징적으로 종합된 시간’, 체험된 관계는 ‘그림책 거울: 직면과 성찰’, ‘전환: 다른 ‘장’, 다른 ‘막’으로’, 그리고 체험된 신체는 ‘따뜻한 물에 녹기 시작한 몸’, ‘닻을 내리고 정박하기’, ‘자유로운 유영’으로 이해하였다. 또한 이와 같은 현상적 특징을 통해 그녀의 그림책읽기 체험의 의미를 살핌으로서 ‘접촉’과 ‘변화’라는 성인지적장애인의 그림책읽기의 근본적인 속성을 드러내었다. 즉, 그녀는 그림책을 읽으면서 다양한 실존적 기투를 하는 존재들이 지닌 에너지와 상징적으로 접촉할 수 있었으며, 이것은 그녀의 삶에 작은 변화를 가져다주었다고 할 수 있다. 본 연구를 통해 ‘그림책이라는 틀’과 ‘성인지적장애인이라는 틀’ 속에 갇혀서 보지 못했던 성인지적장애인의 능력과 그림책의 또 다른 가능성을 발견할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

The present study is a phenomenological study of her picture book reading experience. As analyses in an attempt to understand her picture book reading experience. in the present study, her picture book reading experience was analyzed through the axes of experienced spaces, times, relations and bodies which are the four existing bodies in the life-world presented by van Manen as productive categories for phenomenological questions and reflection. Through the study, experienced spaces were understood as ‘places only for her, spaces only for them’, ‘spaces of life’, and ‘symbolic spaces’, experienced times were understood as ‘moments of immersion’, ‘rhythms of conversions and changes’, and ‘symbolically synthesized time’, experienced relations were understood as ‘picture book mirror: facing and introspection’, ‘conversion: other ‘fields’, and other ‘acts’, and experienced bodies were understood as ‘the body that has begun to be thawed in warm water’, ‘dropping anchor’, and ‘free swimming’. In addition, by examining the meaning of her picture book reading experience through these phenomenological characteristics, the fundamental attributes of mentally deficient adults picture book reading which are contact and changes were revealed. That is, while she reads picture books, symbolically she could contact with a various energy of existential project, these brought changes to her life. Through the present study, the abilities of mentally deficient adults and the infinite potential of picture books that could not be seen as they had been locked in the frame termed picture books and the frame termed mentally deficient adults could be found.
