국문 초록

본고는 현재 공개된 ‘부여 정림사지 오층석탑’(국보 제9호)의 설명문을 분석하여 석탑 문화재의 지식 구조를 탐색하고, 그에 따른 석탑의 학습 방안을 모색한 것이다. ‘부여 정림사지 오층석탑’(국보 제9호)의 설명문에 나타난 지식 구조는 관찰 가능한 ‘조형성’, 조형의 역사적 의미를 읽는 ‘역사성’, 조형과 역사적 의미에 대한 직관적 통찰인 ‘미학적 해석’의 세 영역으로 구성되었다. 이 중에서 역사성은 ‘석탑의 생애사’와 ‘석탑의 양식사’로 나뉘었다. ‘석탑의 생애사’는 석탑 일생의 역사이며, ‘석탑의 양식사’는 석탑의 양식 계보를 말한다. 학습의 난이도는 조형성, 석탑의 생애사(역사성), 석탑의 양식사(역사성), 미학적 해석의 순서이다. 석탑의 양식사(역사성)와 미학적 해석은 전문적인 영역이고, 조형성과 석탑의 생애사(역사성)는 비전문적인 영역이며 단순한 지식 구조이다. 이러한 점들을 고려하면 초등학교(5학년 이상)는 조형성과 석탑의 생애사(역사성), 중학교 이상은 석탑의 양식사(역사성) 교육이 가능하다. 미학적 해석의 교육에서는 전문가의 추상 개념이 강요되어서는 안되며 학습자의 소박한 해석이 허용된 방식으로 개선되어야 한다.

영문 초록

A purpose of this paper is to examine explanatory texts on five storied stone pagoda of Jeongnim temple site (Korea s National Treasure Number 9) circulated in Korean society today and to find a new teaching method on the basis of their intellectual structures. The intellectual structures of explanatory texts on a five storied stone pagoda of Jeongnim temple site consisted of three elements: formative aspects to be visible, historical aspects reading historical contexts, and aesthetic interpretations, insight penetrating into formative and historical aspects. Historical features were divided into two parts, a life history of stone pagoda to pursue the changes in social function of a stone pagoda and a history of a style of building to find its position in the genealogy of stone pagoda. The order of the higher degree of difficulty to learn puts an aesthetic interpretations first, followed by a history of building style , a life history of stone pagoda and formative aspects. While a history of building style and aesthetic interpretations are professional areas of study, a life history of stone pagoda and the formative aspects are amateur areas of study. In consideration of these points, a teaching orientation and method of pagoda have to be fitted to the goal of learning and level of learners.
