신 노년문화형성을 위한 노화담론분석과 평생 교육적 논의

국문 초록

인간수명 100세 시대에 잘 늙어가기는 노년기에 주어진 과제이다. 이 연구는 신노화담론으로 거론되는 생산적 노화, 활기찬 노화, 성공적 노화모델을 고찰, 분석하여 평생교육의 역할을 살펴보고 신 노화모델과 평생교육이 신 노년문화형성에 이바지하여야 할 점을 논의하고자 하였다. 노화담론은 노인의 사회참여와 기여, 잠재력 개발과 삶의 질 향상을 위한 생활방향을 제시하고 있으나 생산적 노화는 자본주의 사회에서 생산성을 중요시하는 편협함을 보여 개인 삶의 중요성을 간과하는 단점을 가지고 있었다. 활기찬 노화는 건강뿐만 아니라 정신, 사회, 문화등 다양한 차원에서 삶을 긍정적으로 재구성하는 범세계적인 양상을 보였고 평생교육의 중요성을 가장 많이 강조한 모델이다. 성공적 노화는 개인의 삶에 집중하였으나 건강한 노인만을 대상으로 하여 포괄성이 결여되었다. 이 모델들이 바람직한 노년생활에 대한 합의점을 이끌어내지 못하고 있으나 개인의 삶과 사회적 삶을 동시에 조화롭게 살기 위해 평생교육은 필수적임을 강조하고 있는 공통점을 발견하였다. 노인인구 증가에도 불구하고 사회에서는 노인에 대한 사회문화적 지침이 없어 노인들 스스로 신 노년문화를 형성하여 할 시점에 왔다. 100세 시대를 살아갈 베이비붐 세대가 스스로 잘 늙어갈 수 있도록 신 노년문화를 마련하는 기초 작업이 될 것으로 본다.

영문 초록

The study analysed productive aging, active aging and successful aging which are considered of new aging model as aging well discourse and examined the role of lifelong education for the purpose of finding any contribution to build new culture for older adults based on these examinations. Aging models suggested the methods of social participation, contribution with volunteering activities, the development of potiential empower and increases of the quality of life. However, productive aging had more focused on productivity rather than personal life, which can be weak points by ignoring happiness of life. Active aging implemented the worldwide campaign to redesign active life in terms of health, mental, social and culture aspects and emphasized the importance of lifelong education in later life. Successful aging focused on personal life but only healthy older adults, which means that unhealthy older adults could not be included. These model failed to common points to lead desirable later life but had commonly insisted on the importance of lifelong education to make personal and social life desirably. There is no social cultural indication for older adults even though the number of older adults increases every year. Now it is the time to build new culture for older adults by themselves. This study would be the basic material to build new culture for older adults for babyboom generation in homo hundred.
