컬리어 어주자 척도를 활용한 시각중복장애학생의 발달 수준 분석

국문 초록

평가는 시각장애학생의 개별적 요구에 맞는 교육계획에 수립하는 토대가 된다. 발달 척도는 표준화 검사와 일상 행동 관찰법과 더불어 주요 평가 방법으로 사용되어져 왔다. 시각중복장애학생을 위해 개발된 발달 척도를 활용하여 발달 수준을 알아보고자 연구가 진행되었다. 본 연구 참여자는 A맹학교 재학생 23명이었고, 발달 척도로 컬리어 어주자 척도가 사용되었다. 시각중복장애학생을 대상으로 발달 척도를 사용하여 나온 결과를 두 가지로 정리해 볼 수 있다. 첫째, 시각중복장애학생들은 컬리어 어주자 척도의 262개의 발달 기술 중 121개를 습득하여 46%의 수행 수준을 보였다. 다섯 가지 영역에서는 40-52%의 발달 기술 수행 수준을 보였다. 둘째, 컬리어 어주자 척도의 하위요소의 발달기술을 수행한 연령 구간 별 시각중복장애학생들의 분포는 다르게 나타났다. 시각중복장애학생들이 발달기술을 가장 낮게 수행한 연령 구간은 1-5개월이었고, 가장 높게 수행한 연령 구간은 36-47개월이었다. 이상의 결과를 볼 때 시각중복장애학생 별로 보이는 발달 수준을 발달 척도를 사용하여 평가하고 그 결과를 개별화교육계획에 반영해볼 수 있겠다.

영문 초록

Comprehensive evaluation is a critical first step in developing appropriate individualized education plans for students with visual impairments and additional disabilities. This study was conducted to investigate developmental level of students with visual and additional impairments by using the developmental scale. As a developmental instrument, the Callier-Azusa Scale G was used to evaluate developmental level of 23 students, aged 12 to 33, who studied in the A School for the Blind. The results of this study are as follows. First, the participants acquired 121 out of 262 development skills on the Callier-Azusa scale, showing a performance level of about 46%. In five developmental areas, 40-52% level of development skills performance was shown. Second, the distribution of students with visual and additional impairments by age group who performed the developmental skills of sub-component of the Scale was different. The lowest level of development skills performed by the participants was 1-5 months, while the highest level of 36-47 months. Given the above results, evaluation process through developmental scale is used to gather useful information in planning and implementing individualized education plans for learners with visual impairments and additional disabilities.
