시각장애성인 여성의 외모관리 성향 분석

국문 초록

이 연구는 시각장애성인 여성의 이상적인 체형에 대한 인식을 알아보기 위해 실제 BMI지수와 희망 BMI지수의 차이를 분석하고, 외모관리 활동 분야 및 미용성형에 대한 의향을 파악하는데 목적이 있다. 연구를 위해 25세 이상의 시각장애성인 여성 381명이 응답한 설문조사 자료를 분석하였으며, 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 시각장애성인 여성의 현재 BMI지수는 정상체중이 54.3%로 가장 많았으나 희망하는 BMI지수는 저체중이 56.7%로 가장 많은 부분을 차지했다. 시각장애성인 여성의 실제 BMI지수는 생애주기, 결혼 상태, 가족의 전체 수입, 최종 학력, 주관적 건강 상태에 따라 유의미한 차이를 나타냈고, 희망하는 BMI지수는 생애주기, 결혼 상태, 경제활동 상태, 최종 학력, 거주 지역에 따라 유의미한 차이를 나타냈다. 둘째, 시각장애성인 여성의 향후 방문 또는 지불할 의향이 있는 외모관리 활동을 알아본 결과, 세안 제품이나 기초/메이크업 화장품 등을 구입할 의향이 있다는 응답이 76.9%로 가장 많았고, 이어 패션용품 구매, 헤어샵 방문, 개인용품 구매, 피부관리 서비스, 체형관리 서비스 등의 순으로 나타났다. 향후 성형수술 또는 시술을 희망하는 부위에 대해서는 피부 관련 성형수술(시술)을 원하는 여성이 가장 많았고, 이어 눈, 코, 지방이식/흡입, 쁘띠성형 등의 순으로 나타났다. 이상의 연구 결과를 토대로 시각장애성인 여성의 올바른 외모 인식과 외모관리행동을 위한 평생교육적 개입 방안에 대하여 몇 가지 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to analyze the differences between the actual BMI index and the desired BMI index in order to understand the recognition of ideal body shape and to identify the intention of appearance-management and cosmetic molding among women with visual impairments. For the current study, 381 women with visual impairments aged 25 years or older with visual impairments were participated. The main results of the study were as follows. First, the BMI index of women with visual impairments who participated to this research showed that 54.3% of them seemed to have normal weight. However the highest of desired BMI index presented that 56.7% of the participants seemed to want the low-weight. The actual BMI index of women with visual impairments showed a significant difference according to the life cycle, marital status, family income, final educational attainment, and subjective health status. Moreover the desired BMI index showed a significant difference according to life cycle, marital status, final educational attainment, and residential areas. Second, 76.9% of participants with visual impairments said that they are willing to purchase cleansing products or basic / makeup cosmetics as the result of looking at appearance-management activities. This answer was the most and followed by the answers, fashion-goods-purchasing, hair-shop-visits, personal-care-purchasing, skincare-services, and body-management-services. In the future, women who want to undergo cosmetic procedure were most likely to have skin care services followed by plastic surgeries of eyes and nose, fat graft, and petit molding. Based on the results of this study, some discussions were addressed on lifelong educational interventions for the correct appearance recognition and the appearance management behaviors of women with visual impairments.
