인성교육에 대한 예비생물교사들의 인식

국문 초록

본 연구는 인성교육의 구현을 위해, 2015개정 교육과정 기반의 과학교육을 살펴보고 인성교육에 대한 예비생물교사들의 인식을 분석하고자 하였다. 새로운 인성교육이 사회와의 관계뿐만 아니라 자연과의 올바른 관계형성을 장려한다는 점에서, 생명과 환경을 강조하는 과학교육 및 생물교육은 인성교육에서 중요한 역할을 담당할 수 있다. ‘Nature-Study 는 자연을 학습하기 위한 통합적 과학교육의 일환으로 자연을 통한 과학교육과 자연과의 관계 형성을 강조한다는 측면에서, 인성교육의 구현에 효과적인 방법이 될 수 있다. 조사대상 예비생물교사의 대부분은 생물교육을 통한 인성교육의 필요성에 공감하였으며, 인성교육에 대한 실행 의지를 보였다. 하지만 인성교육을 위한 생물교육의 요소로는 주로 기존 인성교육의 덕목을 중심으로 언급하였으며, 인성교육을 위한 교수방법으로는 협동학습을 주로 제시하였다. 인성교육을 위한 예비교사교육의 개선 필요성에 동의하는 응답자가 많았으며, 교사의 품성 및 자질 함양과 학생과의 소통역량 강화가 예비교사 교육과정에서 강화될 필요가 있다는 응답비율이 높게 나왔다. 인성교육을 실천하는 데 예상되는 어려움으로는 인성교육과 생물교육의 연관성이 부족하다는점을 가장 많이 지적하였다. 따라서 생물교육을 통한 인성교육의 성공적인 실현을 위해서는 예비생물교사 양성과정에서부터 인성교육 관련 내용이 반영된 방향으로 개선될 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

The study reviewed specific ways of science education for the implementation of character education based on the 2015 Revised National Curriculum and investigated pre-service biology teachers perception on character education through biology education. Science education emphasizing life and environment can play important roles in character education as new character education need to promote the relationship with nature as well as society. Nature-Study is integrated and convergent science education for learning nature and can be an efficient way for the implementation of character education in the way that it emphasized Science Education through Nature and the formation of relationship with nature. Most of investigated pre-service biology teachers recognized the need for character education through biology education and showed action will. They mainly presented cardinal virtues as the constituent of biology education for character education and considered cooperative learning as teaching method for character education. They also acknowledged the need for improvement of pre-service biology education in college. They suggested that cultivation of qualities and character of a teacher and the ability of communication with students need to be included in the pre-service training course. On the one hand, they anticipated the shortage of correlation between biology and character education as difficulties in the educational setting. In conclusion, pre-service biology teacher training courses should be improved to promote successful character education through biology education.
