영문 초록

This study was done through quasi-experimental research in order to determine the effect of social support on compliance with sick role behavior in patients of myocardial infarction. The purpose was to improve patients compliance, family support and knowledge about myocardial infarction. The subjects were 59 patients with myocardial infarction who admitted at ICU and CV ward of Chonnam University Hospital in Kwang-Ju City. They were divided to 29 people of experimental group and 30 of control group by a convenience sampling. Data were collected from January 17th to March 20th in 2000 by individual interviewing with the patients through questionnaires. Treatment for the experimental group was social support which consisted of giving a booklet included knowledge about MI to improve compliance at the day before discharge, and making a phone call to the patients home one week after the discharge. The booklet and questionnaires were tested reliability: family support was chronbach s u=.92, Compliance was u=.71 , knowledge about MI was u=.82. Data were analyzed by mean, percentage, x2 , t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson correlation. The results were summarized as follows ; 1. 81.4% of the subjects were male, 18.6% were female. Male to female ratio was about 4:1. 85% of the subjects were between 50-69 years of age. Family history of cardiovascular disease appeared in 10.2% of them while 89.8% did not. 2. The differences of mean score about compliance between demographic variables were significant only in occupation(F=2.11, p<.05). 3. The experimental group which received social support by the nurse showed significantly higher score of compliance(t=1.960, p<.05), family support(t=2.425, p<.05), and knowledge about MI(t=6.633, p<.001) than those of the control group. 4. There were positive correlations each others between knowledge about MI and family support(r=.476, p<.001), knowledge about MI and compliance(r=.291, p<.05), family support and compliance(r=.408, p<.001). As the results, social support by the nurse could in crease patients s compliance, family support and knowledge about MI in patients with Myocardial Infarction.
