영문 초록

This study was to identify Relatives’ Expressed Emotion(REE) perceived by schizophrenic patients, and to investigate the degree of the perceived Expressed Emotion according to general, illnesss process and treatment process characteristics. This study examines the role of patients perceptions of their relatives’ attitudes in predicting psychotic exacerbation in schizophrenia. This study was to provide baseline data in order ot develope nursing intervention program for schizophrenic patients’ adaptation to their relatives. The subjects of this study were 102 schizophrenic patient who admitted or enrolled in and out patient department or day care center of J university, J local neuro-psychiatriy hospital in K city and N psychiatric hospial in N city from Sept. 25 to Oct. 7, 1995. Data were collected by using the Level of Expressed Emotion(LEE) questionnaire devised by Cole(1986) , and analyzed for frequency, mean and SD, t-test and F-test by SAS of PC program. The results were as follows; 1. The mean score of perceived REE was 2.0 points. The mean score in which 4 sub-areas of percieved REE with the following areas were : intrusiveness. 0.5 points; emotional response, 0.5 points; critical attitude to ward ill, 0.4 points; low tolerance and high expectation 0.5 points. 2. The mean score of peerceived REE showed statistically significant higher level in female than in male patients(t=-2.1024, p=0.0380). The subjects in married and marrital crisis state higher perceived REE than un-married subjects, but statistically no significant. 3. The mean score of perceived REE showed statistically no significant higher level in inpatients than out patients and day care center patients. The mean score of perceived REE showed statistically no significant higher level in the family non-participated in treatment program than in participated family too. 4. The mean score of perceived REE showed statistically significant higher level in antipsychotic drug non-user than in user patients (t=2.2966, p=0.0237).
