영문 초록

Purpose: The study is attempted to provide the basic data for spiritual nursing for the elderly patients, through finding out the factors influencing on the elderly patients spiritual needs and spiritual well-being. Methods: The data were collected from July 15 to September 15, 2010. The subjects were 145 elderly inpatients, who were in hospitalized in a general hospital. The instrument for this study was the scale for Spiritual Well-being(20 items), which was developed by Paloutzian & Elison(1982), translated by Choi, Sang-Soon(1990), revised by Kang, Jung-Ho (1996), and a scale for spiritual needs(30 items), which was developed by Kim, Tae- Hee(1986), adapting the three areas suggested by Fish & Shelly(1978). The collected data were analysed by t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test, Pearson s correlation coefficients, with SPSS/ win 17.0 PC.
