국문 초록

본고는 최근 시대적 추세로 자리잡고 있는 학문융합의 관점에서 현대교육의 이론적-실천적 한계는 무엇이고 이를 극복할 수 있는 방안은 어떤 것인가를 탐구하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 우선 학문융합의 일반론적 개념과 의의를 논의하고, 다음으로 이러한 학문융합의 관점에서 현대교육의 이론적-실천적 변화가능성을 모색하도록 한다. 본 연구가 내린 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학문융합은 21세기 학문을 한차원 높게 진일보시킬 수 있는 혁신적 시도이다. 이 개념은 새로운 창조와 혁신은 기존의 지식과 정보의 영역별 경계짓기에서 나오지 않고 여러 학문분야 간의 상호작용과 융합을 통해 가능하다는 점에서 보편화되고 있다. 이러한 시각은 갈수록 전문화 세분화되어 가는 현대교육의 이론과 실천과정을 비판적으로 성찰할 수 있는 계기가 된다. 둘째, 학문융합은 자연과 인간을 이용하려는 단순한 도구적 차원의 지식융합이 아니고, 오히려 위기적 상황에 놓여있는 자연을 살리고 인간과 자연의 상생을 촉진할 수 있는 새로운 교육을 위한 학문운동이다. 이에 본고는 학교는 자연과 인간을 이해하고 존중하면서 시대의 문제를 풀어낼 수 있는 융합형 인재양성의 교육목적을 설정하고 이를 위한 융합교육체제로의 전환을 주장하였다.

영문 초록

The purposes of this paper are to present what the theoretical-practical limits of modern education are in terms of academic convergence as a recent global trend and to seek the methods to overcome them. To achieve these purpose, the general concepts and significance of academic convergence were discussed firstly, and then the possibilities of theoretical-practical changes of modern education in terms of academic convergence were be sought. The conclusions are following: First, academic convergence is an innovative attempt or strategy which can take a step further in science in the 21st century. New creativity and innovation in academic convergence aren t attributed to the separation in the areas of knowledge and information but the interaction and convergence between studies or sciences. It would give an opportunity to reflect the theory and practice of the modern education critically which are getting more professional and specialized. Second, the academic convergence isn t just instrumental knowledge fusion to take advantage of the nature and human, but the scholar movement for the new education which promotes the coexistence of both man and nature in ecological crisis and gives life to the nature. Therefore building a fusion school educational system should be endeavored, which solves contemporary problems today with respect and understanding both nature and human.
