복잡계 패러다임의 교육과정 결정과정 연구에의 적용가능성 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구는 복잡계 패러다임과 연구방법이 교육과정 결정과정의 복잡성, 역동성, 가변성, 불확실성을 제대로 포착하고 가시화할 수 있는지를 이론적으로 탐색하는데 그 목적을 두고자 한다. 그리고 이를 통해 복잡계 패러다임이 기존 교육과정 결정과정 연구의 인식론적 토대와 연구방법의 한계를 보완할 수 있는 보완적 패러다임으로서 적용될 수 있는지를 규명하고자 한다. 복잡계 패러다임의 인식론적 입장, 각종 이론의 특징과 체계들, 연구방법들을 고찰한 결과, 복잡계 패러다임의 도입이 교육과정 결정과정 이해에 가져올 수 있는 변화 가능성은 크게 네 가지로 볼 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 첫째로는 교육과정 결정의 복합적인 수직적ㆍ수평적 연계 구조를 파악할 수 있고, 역동적이고 복잡한 교육과정 결정과정의 연결망의 구성원리를 발견할 수 있다. 둘째로는 교육과정 결정과정 참여자 및 참여조직들의 행위적 특성과 상호작용 패턴, 그리고 각종 정보의 동적 흐름의 속성을 파악할 수 있다. 셋째로는 교육과정 결정과정의 복잡하고 다양한 맥락을 정확하게 파악할 수 있고, 교육과정 결정과정이 시간적 변화에 따라 어떤 양상으로 변화해 갈지 예측할 수도 있다. 넷째로는 하향식 이론화와 상향식 경험적 연구를 상호보완할 수 있는 중간 범위의 자료를 제공받을 수 있다. 그러나 복잡계 패러다임은 가치론적 논의에 취약한 점, 장기예측의 경우에는 위험부담이 커진다는 점, 연구자의 프로그래밍 능력이 요구된다는 점이 한계점이므로 복잡계 패러다임을 비판적으로 활용할 것과 다른 연구 패러다임과 혼합 활용할 것을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study theoretically analyzes that regards complexity theory and methods as alternative paradigm and method of the traditional paradigms and methods for curriculum decision-making process study. The result of the analysis of intellectual viewpoint of complexity theory and various ideas, such as multi-fractal, self-organizing, emergence, critical amounts, co-evolution, and systems dynamic and its study methods, complexity theory can provide four change for curriculum decision-making process study. First, it can help that we understand the vertical and horizontal linking structure of complex curriculum decision-making process, and discover the common structural network s pattern by unique insights for whole curriculum decision-making process. Second, it can help that we understand to doing trait and interaction pattern of participants or participated organizations of curriculum decision-making process, and insight dynamic flow of various information and materials. Third, it can help that we to understand various context and complex situation of curriculum decision-making and to predict the features and phenomena of curriculum decision-making as time goes by. Fourth, it can help that a macro and micro view of study are connected by new metaphor method and computer simulation, and that we to discover the middle scale pattern and nonlinear dynamic change. The results suggest that complexity theory should be embraced by curriculum decision-making process researchers. But critical application and mixed usage of other study methods is required by complexity theory has limitations.
