정서 측정을 위한 도구 개발 : 자기차이 이론을 중심으로

국문 초록

자기(self)에 관한 이해와 연구는 William James (1890/1948) 이래로 심리학에서 긴 역사를 가지고 있다. 특히 일련의 연구자들은 자기와 정서 경험간의 관계성에 초점을 맞추어서 연구를 수행해 오고 있다.(Bandura, 1982; Carver & Scheier, 1990a; Duval & Wicklund, 1972; Eisenstadt & Leippe. 1994; Freud, 1961; Higgins, 1987, 1989; James, 1948; Markus & Nurius, 1986; Ogilvie, 1987; Rogers, 1961). 이러한 다양한 자기 관련 이론들 중에서도, Higgins(1987, 1989)가 제안한 자기차이 이론(self-discrepancy theory)은 자기 차이의 유형을 구체적으로 분류하고 차이와 유형과 크기에 따라 상이한 종류의 정서를 경험하게 된다고 주장하고 있어서 특히 주목을 받고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 자기차이 이론의 관점에서 정서문제를 어떻게 설명하는지를 기술하고, 이이서 자기차이와 정서를 측정하는 방법 및 정서 측정을 위한 도구 개발에 관해 구체적으로 설명하고자 한다. 우선, 아래에서 자기차이 이론에 대하여 간략하게 기술하면 다음과 같다.

영문 초록

This study was conducted to develope the instmment for self-related emotions, based on a self-discrepancy theory The self-discrepancy theory proposes that the type and magnitude of self-discrepancy result in the kind and intensity of negative emotions. Specifically, it is claimed that discrepancies between the actual self and the ideal self are associated with dejection-related emotions(depression), while discrepancies between the actual self and the ought self are associated with agitation-related emotions(anxiety). Based on a self-discrepancy theory, the rating scores of 695 respondents were obtained on 20 self-related emotions and the factor analyses with these responses were performed. The results revealed that 3 factor structure was appropriate dejection-related emotion, agitation-related emotion and positive emotion. Some lirrlitations for the present study were discussed and implications for future studies are suggested.
