일제강점기에 있어서의 소년불량화 담론의 형성

국문 초록

청소년기가 과학의 이름으로 규정되고 청소년을 감화?교정시키는 제도와 시설이 생긴 것은 근 대이후의 일이다. 한국의 경우 그것은 일제강점기로 거슬러 올라간다. 근대 일본은 서구의 영향을 받아 청소년들을 과학적으로 연구하기 시작하고 청소년들에 대한 감화 및 사법제도를 도입하고 이것이 일제에 의해 식민지 조선에 이식된다. 그렇지만 그것은 식민정책에 필요한 방식으로 변형 되어 실시된다. 또한 이른바 모던한 학생들의 새로운 문화적 행위, 동맹휴교를 통한 식민지 교육 에 대한 반발, 소년범죄증가 등의 청소년들의 문제가 사회적 주목을 받기 시작하면서 “소년불량 화” 담론이 형성되어 간다. 미숙하고 불안정하며 따라서 보호받고 통제 받아야 하는 존재로서의 청소년에 대한 근대적 이미지가 창출되고 강화되면서 감화라는 이름 하에 청소년들은 점차 규율 과 통제의 공간 속으로 편입되어 들어갔다. 이것은 과거에만 머물지 않고, 오늘날의 청소년들의 삶과도 끊임없는 연관을 갖는 것이다.

영문 초록

There were youth problems even in the pre-modern society. However, it was not described and defined by the science, and there were not the juvenile reformatory and judicial system until modern times. It appeared at the colonial period in Korea. Youth became to be one of objects for scientific research first in western society, simultaneously appearing the juvenile reformatory and judicial system, which had influence on modern japanese society later. And youth welfare and reformatory projects, including judical system, had been carried out in colonial Chosun by Japanese authority. But it had been employed differently with the case in modern Japan. With the rise and increase of modern student's cultural behaviors, their strikes against modern school(and Japanese) authority and juvenile delinquency, appeared the discourse of youth problems and the image of youth as a being that is immature and unstable and thus has to be protected and controlled. It forced youth to be gradually absorbed into the modern social system operated by discipline and control. This is not just the case of the past, but has something to do with the present.
