慢性精神分裂症에 對한 Reserpme 과 Marplan 의 併用療法

영문 초록

The treatment of chronic schizophrenic phatients is one of the most toilsome tasks in psychiatry. Recently combinations of tranqilizing drugs and antidepressarts are being used with increasing frequency. We have studied the combination of reserpine and marplan in 20 male hospitalized chronic schizophrenic patients, age 22 to 60，admitted to our National Mental Hospital. Onset periods were from 2 years to 15 years. Reserpine was given orally 2mg daily for the first 5 days and 4.5mg daily from the 6th day through 35th day. Marplan was also given orally simultaneously, 30mg daily for the first 5 days and 40mg for second 30 days. Dosage of reserpine was lowerd to 2mg when marked hypotension appeared. Marplan was not given after 3 p.m. in order to prevent insomnia. Results. In 9 patients favorable responses occurred and these patients began to participate in group activities for the first time. In 8 patients no any symptom-change found. 2 cases showed some unfavorable symptoms such as excitment or sexual and emotional instability. Side effects were generally mild and controllable. It is our impression that combined treatment is compatible and effective in some type of schizophrenic patients. Of course this kind of therapy, we belive, should be considered as adjuncts to build better interpersonal relationship for further milieu treatment or psychotherapy.
