국문 초록

최근 예술교육이 강조되고 있는 시점에서 예술교육을 중추적으로 담당하고 있는 예술계 중․고등학교에서의 예술교육이 어떠해야 하는지에 대한 성찰과 나아갈 방향 그리고 이들 학교의 운영을 활성화하고 발전시키려는 노력이 요구되고 있다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 예술고등학교의 효율적인 운영과 발전 방안을 모색해 보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 문헌과 각종 자료를 통해 우리나라와 외국의 예술계 고등학교 운영 실태를 알아보았고, 예술고등학교의 운영과 발전을 위한 요구를 조사하기 위해 학생과 학부모, 교사, 예술대학 교수, 예술관련 협회장 등을 대상으로 설문조사와 면담조사를 실시하여 이를 분석하였다. 또한 우리나라 주요 대학의 예술계열학과 입학전형을 분석하여 대학 입시 전형방법의 변화를 알아보았다. 이러한 분석을 토대로 예술고등학교의 효율적인 운영과 발전을 위한 교육목표와 전공의 개설, 세부적인 운영과 교육과정 및 다양한 프로그램의 운영 등에 대하여 비교적 구체화된 방안을 모색하여 제시하였다. 그 결과로서, 예술고등학교는 미래의 예술을 선도하는 전문예술인을 육성하기 위한 목표를 가지고, 순수예술뿐만 아니라 대중예술을 포함하여 전공학과를 개설하여 특성화시켜야 하며, 교육과정에서는 전문교과 교육에 보다 많은 시간을 할애하고, 전공과 관련한 다양한 체험과 경험을 위한 특성화 프로그램을 운영하여야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

Recently, the importance of art education is being emphasized and in consideration of such trend, the society is working to promote and develop managements of arts middle schools and arts high schools, the center of the art education, while it considers the past and the future of the very art education conducted by those schools. For that reason, the study aimed to search for ways to realize efficient management and development of arts high school. In order to achieve the research goal, the study looked into references and all sorts of necessary materials as well to understand present management conditions of arts high schools in Korea and foreign countries. The study conducted a survey and an interview targeting students, parents, teachers, professors at arts colleges and directors of arts organizations to investigate needs of management and development of arts high school. In addition, changes in the college entrance examination were observed while the study analyzed the entrance examination system of arts departments at major universities in Korea. Based on the results from those analyses the above, the study proposed quite detailed measures to establish educational objectives, to open majors, to realize careful management and, to manage curricula and other various programs that would be all a contribution to the efficient management and development of arts high schools. As a result, the study learned that with a goal to cultivate expert artists leading the future art established, arts high school should open and specialize not only pure art but also public art, allotting more time to specialized education courses in the curricula. Arts high school also should operate special programs to give students a chance to acquire knowledge on ones’ majors as they experience as much as possible via the programs.
