영문 초록
According to the worldview of development/globalisation as the cumulative waves after colonialism,
human beings and society are born with 'the condition of underdevelopment.' It is based upon the
assumption that humans have unlimited wants and limited means. Thus they as a society are usually
conditioned to concentrate upon the maximum development over the scarce resource both human and
natural in order to satisfy their needs. In other words, the framework of neo-development/globalisation
requires adults and children to participate in the intensive programs of work and education. However,
the shiny side of it has unfortunately brought about the collapse of local communities and natural
environment. Focusing upon the cannibalistic character of development/globalisation which feeds on both
nature's diversity and local communities, the Korean experience is analyzed with a critique of the
dominant sociological, environmental, and educational discourses depending upon such concept as
sustainable development.
