국문 초록

after cold war, it is probe that the logic of capitalism world system dominates the whole world in all fields, especially in cultural fields. so western culture as the hegemonic geoculture of the world system for example individualism, materialism increases its influences in egyptian culture deeper and deeper. in this context, the questions whether western culture as the hegemonic geoculture in the world system destroys egyptian culture entirely or co- exists with egyptian culture, raise at the same time. first, this paper deals with theoretical analysis about concept of geoculture of the world system and examples, and second deals with attack process of western culture against egyptian culture and attack mechanism and third, deals with discourses about relationships especially co-existence and destruction between western culture as hegemonic geoculture in the world system and egyptian culture in view of the world system. in conclusion, islam is the core of egyptian culture in the case of egypt. thus, egyptian culture based on religion of islam is not changeable, while egyptian culture not based on religion of islam is incorporating to western culture according to degree on the accumulation of individuals and groups.
