국문 초록

정보취합은 항상 가능하지 않고, 따라서 사회적 효율성은 달성되기는 어렵다. Axelson and Makarov (2023)의 연구에 따르면, 정보 취합의 실패가 시장의 규모가 커짐에 따라 더 심해진다는 것을 알 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 시장 구조를 적절하게 설계하면 정보 취합이 시장 규모에 상관없이 늘 가능하다는 것을 보였으며 사회적 효율성 또한 달성할 수 있음을 보였다. 이는 기존의 연구 결과와는 사뭇 다르다. 일반적으로 정보 취합은 늘 가능하지 않다. 설령 정보가 취합된다 하더라도, 사회적 효율성을달성하는 것은 다른 문제이다. 본 연구에서 시장구조를 설계할 때, Axelson and Makarov (2023)의 두 가지 조건 - 강건성과 경쟁성에 관하여 다른 접근을 시도하였다. 본 연구에서는 위의 두 가지 조건이 적절하게 변형된 시장 구조를 설계하였고, 그 결과 정보 취합과 사회적 효율성이 시장 규모에 상관없이 언제나 달성될 수 있음을 보였다.

영문 초록

Oftentimes, information aggregation fails and the social efficiency cannot be obtained. Recently, Axelson and Makarov (2023) shows that the failure of information aggregation can become more severe as there are more participants in the financial market. In this work, we design a market in which information is always aggregated irrespective of the market size and the social efficiency can always be obtained. This is a sharp contrast to the existing results. In general, information aggregation is not always possible. Even if information is aggregated, achieving the social efficiency is a different issue. When designing the market structure, we relax two conditions in Axelson and Makarov (2023): robustness and competitiveness. We construct a market platfom in which either of the two conditions is relaxed and show that information can always be aggregated and the social efficiency can be obtained no matther how large the market is.
