국문 초록

블레이크는 『천국과 지옥의 결혼』에서 선인과 악인의 구별, 인간의 본질의 대립, 지옥, 선지자들과 시인들의 예언, 지옥과 천국에 대한 환상, 천사와 악마의 논쟁, 역사의 순환 등과 같은 대립의 조화를 다양한 주제들로 접근을 시도하고 있다. 그의 대립개념은 선인과 악인, 천국과 지옥, 그리스도 시대와 에돔 시대, 이성과 에너지, 영혼과 육체, 지배자와 피지배자 등이다. 이 대립개념은 이원론의 개념을 떠올리듯 각 개체가 별개로 공간을 구성하는 것이 아니라, 예이츠의 가이어처럼 한 개체가 다른 개체에 포함되어 상호작용한다. 그때에 어떤 개체가 그 공간에서 힘을 지배하느냐에 따라서 그 개체가 공간을 지배한다. 그래서 이러한 시의 구성방법은 그의 시 세계가 의도한 방향을 암시하면서 낭만주의의 새로운 파장을 예시하고 있다.

영문 초록

William Blake, in The Marriage of Heaven and Hell, sings the harmonizing of the opposites in subject matters, such as the discrimination between the just man and the villain, the opposition of human nature, the prophecies of seers and poets, the fancies of a heaven and a hell, the argument between an angel and a devil, and the cycle of history. His concept of opposition is the good and the bad, heaven and hell, a Christian era and an Edom era, reason and energy, a body and a spirit, rulers and subordinates. His concept of opposition is that the selected objects do not consist of spaces separately, as in a dualistic theory. An object consists of another object, and they interact with each other. At that time, as a certain object has a power, the object can dominate the space. This poem prophetically shows his poetic world the way to go: the future blueprint to stir up the big wave of the romantic era.
