국문 초록

블레이크는 후기시의『밀턴: 두 권의 시집에서 시』에서 자신만의 독창적인 신화적 우주를 구체적으로 묘사하기 시작한다. 블레이크의 신화적 우주는 고대 그리스의 우주와 달리, 성경의 우주를 변형하여 자신만의 독창적인 우주를 독자에게 전달한다. 그의 대우주는 천국, 지옥, 골고누자, 뿔라, 울로, 제너레이션, 지상 세계로 나눠지며, 더불어 인간의 육체는 소우주로 설명된다. 독자들은 밀턴이라는 주인공을 통해서 블레이크의 우주를 탐험하지만, 이 시에서 블레이크의 우주를 명료하게 이해하기는 힘들 것 같다. 이는 블레이크가 시적 영감을 받은 대로 시를 구술해 나가기에 그의 우주에 대한 노래가 체계적으로 서술되지 않았기 때문이다. 그러나 독자들은 이 시에서 블레이크의 영감과 상상력에 깊은 찬사를 보낼 것이다.

영문 초록

William Blake begins to depict definitely his own original mythical universe in his later poem, Milton: a Poem in 2 Books. Unlike the ancient Greek universe, Blake’s mythical universe transforms the biblical universe and delivers his own unique universe to the reader. His great universe is divided into Heaven, Hell, Golgonooja, Beula, Ulro, Generation, and the earth, and the human body is seen as a miniature universe. Through the protagonist, Milton, readers explore Blake’s universe, but it seems difficult to clearly understand Blake’s universe in this poem. It is because Blake’s poetry about the universe is not systematically narrated, as, receiving his poetic inspiration, Blake dictates his poem. But readers will pay a high tribute to Blake’s inspiration and imagination in this poem.
