Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine how polychronicity affects job performance, work engagement, and turnover intention. Additionally, by verifying the moderating effect of perceived organizational support on the relationships between polychronicity and job performance, work engagement, and turnover intention, this study aims to provide a foundation for improving the efficiency of human resource management in hotels. Design/methodology/approach: A survey was conducted among employees working at deluxe hotels, collecting a total of 359 responses. Based on the collected data, simple and multiple regression analyses, as well as moderated regression analysis, were performed to test hypotheses. Findings: The study found that due to the nature of the hotel industry, where employees frequently interact with multiple customers and are required to multitask, individuals with high levels of polychronicity demonstrated higher levels of work engagement and job performance. Furthermore, high work engagement improved job performance, though the associated workload and pressure influenced turnover intention. It was found that when emphasizing polychronicity to employees, if accompanied by appropriate organizational support, employees may experience not excessive burdens or stress in performing their tasks, but rather achieve positive job performance outcomes. Research limitations/implications: The findings of this study are limited to employees in deluxe hotels. Future research should validate these results across other industries. This study provides hotel managers with valuable insights for recruiting employees suited to the organization or for making efficient job placements. It can also contribute to the development of training programs aimed at enhancing employees' polychronicity. Originality/value: This study differentiates itself from previous research by verifying the moderating effect of per-ceived organizational support on the relationships between polychronicity and job performance, work engagement, and turnover intention. These findings contribute to a deeper understanding of the why organizational support for employees is critical for improving human resource management efficiency in hotels.
