국문 초록

최근 들어 인간의 몸은 여러 분야의 관심과 지적과 함께 ‘몸 중심’적 사고를 바탕으로 새롭게 부각되고 있다. 이에 현재는 몸의 객관적 측면에 국한된 시각보다는 본질적 관점을 바탕으로 몸의 가치 및 의미에 대한 시선이 요구되는 시기라고 판단한다. 이에 본 연구는 우리의 ‘몸’이 세계를 지각하는 방식의 이해를 위하여 Maurice Merleau-Ponty의‘행동의 구조(The Structure of Behavior)’를 배경으로 몸이 지닌 철학적 의미와 가치를 규명하고자 담론을 이어간다. 동시에 현재 몸에 대한 과잉의 사회문화현상 안에 편중된 시각을 벗어나 몸에 대한 지향적 논의를 통하여 우리 몸의 주체성 및 근본적 지위 확보에 연구의 필요성을 두고 수행하는 바이다. 이를 통하여 주체적 존재로서 몸의 가치를 회복하고 의미를 부여하는데 단초가 될 것을 기대한다.

영문 초록

In recent years, the human body has gained renewed prominence through 'body-centered' thinking, attracting attention and criticism from various fields. We propose a perspective that values the body for its intrinsic meaning, rather than restricting our view to its objective aspects. This study continues the discourse by exploring the philosophical meaning and value of the body, drawing on Maurice Merleau-Ponty's The Structure of Behavior to understand how our bodies perceive the world. We also aim to emphasize the subjectivity and fundamental status of the body, engaging in an oriented discussion that moves beyond the current socio-cultural fixation on the body. Through this approach, we seek to restore the body’s value as a subjective being and assign it deeper meaning.
