한국어판 Compassion Scale의 타당화 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 한국어판 Compassion Scale의 타당도와 신뢰도를 확인하기 위하여 시도된 방법론적 연구이다. 원 도구는 총 16문항으로 구성되어 있으며 연구의 대상자는 가톨릭 신학생 326명이었다. 요인 구성의 타당성은 확인적 요인분석으로, 가설검정 구성타당도는 수렴타당도, 판별타당도와 집합타당도로 확인하였다. 신뢰도는 내적 일관성으로 검증하였다. 확인적 요인분석에서 SMC값이 낮은 문항을 삭제한 후 14문항으로 구성된 한국어판 Compassion Scale의 확인적 요인분석 결과 모델적합도는 적절한 것으로 나타났다. 요인 구성의 수렴타당도와 판별타당도는 적당한 수준임을 확인하였다. 한국어판 Compassion Scale은 윤리적 민감성과 생명윤리의식 간의 상관관계를 통해 가설검정 구성타당도가 확보되었으며 윤리적 가치관에 따른 그룹 간 차이를 통해 집합타당도를 확인하였다. 도구의 신뢰도는 내적 일관성이 확보된 것으로 판단하였다. 본 연구에서 검증된 한국어판 Compassion Scale은 보편적인 대상의 compassion 정도를 사정하고 평가하기 위한 타당도와 신뢰도가 확인된 도구라고 할 수 있으며, 다양한 대상에서 활용할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다. 그러나, 본 연구의 대상이 남성으로 구성된 점을 고려하여 다양한 대상으로 표본을 확대한 추가적인 연구가 필요하다고 생각한다.

영문 초록

This study is a methodological study to evaluate the validity and reliability of the Korean version of Compassion Scale. The original Compassion Scale questionnaire consisted of a total of 16 items. This study was conducted with 326 seminarians enrolled in six seminaries. Construct validity was verified through confirmatory factor analysis. Hypotheses testing for construct validity was confirmed through convergent validity, discriminant validity and known group validity. Reliability was verified through internal consistency. In confirmatory factor analysis, two items with low SMC values were deleted. The result of the confirmatory factor analysis of the Korean version of the Compassion Scale provides that the model fit was appropriate. Convergent validity and discriminant validity for Construct validity were confirmed to be at an acceptable level. The Korean version of the Compassion Scale established construct validity for hypothesis testing through the correlation with ethical sensitivity and bioethical awareness. The Compassion Scale had known-group validity. Internal consistency was reliable. The Korean version of Compassion Scale was confirmed to be a useful and reliable scale for assessing the level of compassion in a general population and is expected to be applicable to various groups. However, as this study's sample consisted only of male participants, further research with an expanded and more diverse sample is recommended.
