English songs are commonly used for college students as well as for younger students who want to learn English conversation in non-English speaking countries. Therefore, English teachers or native English teachers just use English songs to help students get interested in learning English. Despite such efforts, benefit of using English songs without proper methods isn't big enough. In order to teach English songs effectively, good teaching methods should be used. Nevertheless, it's not easy to find any English conversation methods related with music. For that reason, the author introduces Edwin Gordon's Music Learning Theory at first and then adapts his Comprehensive Learning Sequents. Gordon's Music Learning Theory is a music teaching method which is following the first language acquisition process. Therefore, it doesn't seem to be strange at all to apply Comprehensive Learning Sequents into English conversation teaching method. This paper is based on the preliminary survey study which the author studied about college students' perceptions on the use of music with reference to Gordon's Music Learning Theory before. The preliminary survey study gave a possibility of applying Gordon's Comprehensive Learning Sequents. So in this paper, the author examines if the Comprehensive Learning Sequents has any influence on the singing dialogue group and the spoken dialogue group. She also compares the two groups' results and then determines which group has more possibility of adopting the method. This study was held in 2-year college located in southern part of Geonggi-do. The participants were 42 students who were enrolled in first year of English conversation class. The English singing dialogue group has 20 students and the English spoken dialogue group has 22 students. They are given same materials and same steps. However the singing group is asked to sing the dialogue and the spoken group is asked to speak the dialogue. As a result, the study shows that Gordon's Comprehensive Learning Sequents improves English conversation skills of the English singing dialogue group as well as the English spoken dialogue group. And it is approved that the method can be adopted for college students' English conversation class, especially if it is used for English singing group than English spoken group
