Background: The traditional assessment of urban green spaces is measured only by the Park's compliance with specific standards, including physical measurements such as the number of green spaces and the area per capita. However, this approach does not consider the sociopersonal parameters responsible for the indicators of a person's emotional attitude toward the Park, which can increase the attendance of city parks. Objectives: This study summarizes the theoretical knowledge gained in the field of park attendance, selects the popularity of urban parks as a subject not previously studied, and uses the popularity model of urban parks to analyze the popularity of urban parks in Harbin (China) and Vladivostok (Russia). Methods: By comparing the survey data and analyzing the data obtained by constructing a model of the popularity of urban parks, the results of the model were obtained, and the error of the resulting model was estimated for various sets of factors affecting the popularity and accessibility of urban parks. Results: The results show that both physical and socio-personal factors influence the popularity and accessibility of the Park, and it can also be said that if the Park does not have proper popularity among the population, then perceived accessibility is an essential factor in visiting it. These results have implications for the design of new urban parks. Conclusions: This study establishes a crosscultural framework aiding architects in addressing park popularity complexities, and paves the way for future research to refine critical factors and develop advanced models considering diverse city-specific elements.
