통일교육 패러다임 전환론의 문제점 분석 및 대안모색을 위한 연구

국문 초록

이 연구는 통일교육의 패러다임 전환론들을 고찰해 보고자 하는 것에 그 목적을 두고 진행하였다. 이러한 패러다임 전환은 각각 다음과 같은 문제를 지니고 있었다. 안보에서 평화 통일로의 패러다임 전환론은 패러다임 전환의 불완전성과 안보의 여전한 중심적 위치의 문제, 안보교육에서 통일교육으로 전환했을 시 ‘통일’개념의 불명확한 위상과 개념정립의 문제 등을 지닌다. 부문별 통일교육으로의 패러다임 전환론은 통일교육의 유지와 대체론의 문제가 있으며, 또한 부문별 교육과 통일교육의 체계적 관련성을 제시하고 있지 못한 문제가 있다. 포스트 담론 등장에 따른 통일교육 패러다임 전환론은 대안가능성의 적절성의 문제, 한국 근대국가, 통일문제에의 적용 적절성의 문제, 기존 신 패러다임의 통일교육과 내용적으로 큰 차별성을 보여주고 있지 못한 문제 등을 지닌다. 이러한 문제점을 극복하면서 통일교육 패러다임의 올바른 전환을 이루기 위해서 이 연구는 다음과 같은 몇 가지를 제시하고 있다. 첫째, 탈냉전 남북화해 시대를 맞이하여 통일교육은 안보에서 통일로 완전한 패러다임 전환을 이룰 필요가 있으며, 이는 온전히 ‘통일’ 그 자체를 위한 교육 즉 분단의식을 통일지향적 의식으로 전환하는 교육, 분단에서 통일로 인식전환을 추구하는 교육을 말한다. 둘째, 민주화 체제의 등장에 따라 민주시민교육, 평화교육 등 다양한 부문별 통일교육으로의 패러다임 전환론이 올바로 실현되기 위해서는 통일이념 실현을 위한 부문별 교육론, 통일이념 실현을 위한 하위 교육으로의 자리매김을 통해 통일교육의 체계적 연관성 속에 포함시키는 것이 필요하다. 셋째, 포스트 담론의 등장에 따른 탈분단 교육으로의 패러다임 전환론은 탈근대론, 탈민족주의론의 민족주의에 대한 일면적 이해의 문제, 한국적 수용의 부적합성 등으로 인해 통일교육 속에 포함, 융합되는 속에서 추구될 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

This study was conducted with the aim of examining the paradigm shift theories of unification education. Each of these paradigm shifts had the following problems. The paradigm shift from security to peaceful unification has issues such as incompleteness of paradigm shift, the still central position of security, and the unclear status and conceptual establishment of the concept of “unification” when transitioning from security education to unification education. The paradigm shift to unification education by various theories of education has a problem either the maintenance or replacement of unification education, and there is also a problem that it does not present the systematic relationship between education and unification education by various theories of education. Following the emergence of post-modernity, the theory of paradigm shift in unification education has problems such as appropriateness of alternatives, appropriateness of application to the Korean modernity, and problems that do not show great difference in content from the existing new paradigm of unification education. In order to achieve the correct shift in the paradigm of unification education while overcoming these problems, this study suggests several things as follows. First, in the era of post-Cold War inter-Korean reconciliation, unification education needs to achieve a complete paradigm shift from security to unification, which refers to education for “unification” itself, which converts division consciousness to unification-oriented consciousness, and education that seeks to shift awareness from division to unification. Second, in order to properly realize the paradigm shift to unification education in various theories of education, such as democratic citizenship education and peace education, it is necessary to include it in the systematic connection of unification education through education theory by and sub-education for unification ideology. Third, the paradigm shift to post-division education following the emergence of post-modernity needs to be pursued in the context of inclusion and convergence in unification education.
