국문 초록

본 연구에서는 입후문기(立後文記)를 중점적으로 분석함으로써 18-19세기의 입후 양상을고찰하였다. 첫째, 입후문기는 민간에서 입후 사실을 증명하기 위해 주요 관계자들이 모여 작성한 것인데, 입후가 보편화되었던 18-19세기에 명문(明文) 또는 완의(完議)의 형식을 차용하여 작성되었다. 둘째, 입후문기를 작성한 이들은 이를 토대로 계후입안(繼後立案)을 발급받고자 하였다. 이는 입후문기의 작성이 입후의 완결이라고 보는 기존 견해와 다른 것으로, 당대인들은 최종적으로 계후입안을 발급받아 그 사실을 증명하고자 하였다. 셋째, 입후문기는 기본적으로 입후의 당사자인 부모 중심으로 작성되었다. 그러나 법제적으로 입후 신청자의 범위가 확대되고 사회적으로 문중 조직이 결성되면서 문장 중심으로 작성되는 경향을 보였다. 이는 입후를 결정하는 주체가 부모에서 문중으로 바뀌는 사회적 현상을보여주는 것으로 해석된다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to consider the aspect of entry in a family register of 18th-19th centuries by analyzing Iphoomungi mainly. First, Iphoomungi is the document made by major people concerned to prove the facts of entry in a family register among the people, and it was written by adopting the form of provisions or wan-ui, the written agreement form during 18th-19th centuries which entry in a family register was spread commonly. Second, the people who wrote ‘Iphoomungi’ tried to ‘Gyehooipan’, the certificate of entry in a family register’ based on this. This is different from the existing viewpoint to see the completion of entry in a family register was the making ‘Iphoomungi’. Therefore, the people of that period tried to prove the fact by issuing ‘Gyehooipan’ finally. Third, ‘Iphoomungi’ was basically made by focusing on parents who were the people involved in entry in a family register but it had been changed to be made by leaders of the clans as the clans were organized socially and expanded the scope of candidates to be registered in a family legally. This is interpreted to show the social phenomenon of replacing the main agent from parents to clans to decide entry in a family register.
