국문 초록

미래 전쟁 승패를 좌우하는 중요한 요소의 하나는 무기체계의 우세함과 이에 적용되는 군사과학기술의 우수함을 들 수 있다. 최근 4차산업의 발전 양상은 국방 분야 특히 새로운 미래 무기체계에 획기적인 변화가 올 것으로 예측되고 있다. 본 논문은 현재 시점으로부터 약10년 후에 이르는 시간대역을 기준으로 하여, 미국을 중심으로 미래 무기체계가 어떠한 추세로 연구 개발되고 있으며, 그러한 무기체계에 적용될 군사과학기술은 어떠한 분야가 핵심적으로 발전하고 있는가에 대한 추세를 분석하였다. 미래 무기체계 발전 추세는 정밀유도무기의 고도 정밀화, 미사일 등 비행체의 초 고속화, 우주 물체의 무기화, 인공지능을 결합한로봇 등의 자율무기화, 화약이 아닌 전자기나 레이저의 무기화 등으로 요약된다. 이들의 무기체계에 적용되어 구현되어질 군사과학기술은 인공지능과 로봇기술, 자율성기술, 전자기와 레이저 활용기술, 우주에서 인공위성의 무력화기술, 전사의 능력을 증강시키는 생물학,정보보안과 고속처리를 위한 양자컴퓨팅 기술 등으로 그 발전 추세를 요약 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

The superiority of the weapon systems and the advanced military science& technologies would have played a critical role in the modern war. Recentlythe 4th industrial revolution could bring the disruptive technologies to thedefense sector. This thesis analyzes the trends of future weapon systemsdevelopment mainly in the USA in a decade or two. and also the trends ofmilitary science and technologies applied in the development of those newweapon systems are also examined. In summary, the trends of future weaponsystems would be categorized into 1)more precisely guided missile system,2)hyper-sonic glide vehicles, 3)space weapons, 4)AI robots and autonomousweapons, and 5)electromagnetic and laser weapon systems. The militaryscience and technologies for the fore-mentioned weapon systems would beartificial intelligence, robotics, autonomy, electromagnetic and laser technologies,satellites neutralizing technologies, biologies for human enhancement, andquantum computing. This trend analysis of the future weapon systems andmilitary science and technologies would provide for the Korea defense sectorwith the basic reference.
