반(反)성폭력 운동의 피해자와 여성 정체성

국문 초록

이 글은 영페미니스트와 영영페미니스트의 반성폭력 운동을 통해 그 속에서 나타난 피해자의 위치성을 검토하고, 각 운동에서 구성한 여성 정체성의 특징을 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 영페미니스트와 영영페미니스트는 단순히 어리거나 젊다는 의미가 아닌 새로운 여성운동이 등장했음을 의미한다. 이들은 성폭력의 문제를 성별 권력관계의 관점에서 바라보며 성폭력의 의미를 확장하고 적극적으로 싸웠다는 공통점이 있다. 그러나 이들은 여성이라는 정체성을 구성하는 데 있어 확연한 차이를 보였다. 영페미니스트의 반성폭력 운동은 일상의 다양한 불의를 성폭력으로 규정함으로써 성폭력의 개념을 확장했으며 성별 권력관계를 적극적으로 드러내고자 했다. 따라서 성폭력 피해자도 보호의 대상이 아니라 싸우고 투쟁하는 운동의 주체로 나타났고, 이들이 구성한 여성 정체성은 공통의 속성이나 경험을 전제하지 않은 소외되고 배제된 집단으로서의 여성을 의미했다. 영영페미니스트의 디지털 성폭력 근절 운동은 온라인을 중심으로 다양한 여성이 참여함으로써 페미니즘의 대중적 확산이라는 성취를 이룩했다. 그러나 이들은 성폭력의 피해자를 생물학적 여성으로 규정하여 남성 가해자 대 여성 피해자라는 구도를 생산했고, 이는 나아가 모든 여성이 태생적으로 남성 권력의 절대적 피해자라는 논리를 양산했다. 이들의 여성 정체성 또한 여성 성기 혹은 여성 염색체를 가지고 태어난 생물학적 여성이라는 공통의 속성으로 구성되었고, 여성억압만을 가장 근본적이고 유일한 억압으로 규정하여 다른 이들과의 연대를 거부하는 모습을 보였다.

영문 초록

This article aims to examine the positioning of victims in the young feminist and young-young feminist anti-sexual violence movements and to analyze the characteristics of the feminine identity constructed by each movement. Young feminists and young-young feminists do not simply mean young or younger, but a new women's movement has emerged. They have in common that they have actively fought against sexual violence by expanding the meaning of sexual violence and looking at it through the lens of gender power relations. However, they differed significantly in how they constructed their identity as women. Young feminists' anti-sexual violence movement expanded the concept of sexual violence by defining various everyday injustices as sexual violence and actively sought to reveal gender power relations. Therefore, victims of sexual violence appeared as subjects of the movement to fight and struggle, not as targets of protection, and the identity of women they constructed meant women as a marginalized and excluded group that did not presuppose common attributes or experiences. Young-young feminist movements to end digital sexual violence have accomplished the goal of spreading feminism to the masses by engaging a wide range of women online. However, by defining the victims of sexual violence as biologically female, they produced a male perpetrator versus female victim narrative, which in turn produced the logic that all women are inherently absolute victims of male power. Their female identities were also framed by the common attribute of being biologically female, born with female genitalia or female chromosomes, and by identifying female oppression as the most fundamental and only oppression, they refused to stand in solidarity with others.
