현대 사할린 한인 디아스포라의 사회적 움직임

국문 초록

본고는 사할린 한인들의 사회적 움직임에 대해 다루며, 이러한 움직임은 일본 제국의 붕괴와 남사할린의 할양 이후 시작된 한인들의 조국인 한국으로의 귀환 염원으로부터 시작되었다. 사할린 한인들은 조국에 남은 친지들에게 귀환 의사를 표현하였고, 최초의 공공 단체를 창설하는 등의 방법을 통해 자신의 의지를 표명하였다. 전후(戰後) 기간 동안 사할린 한인들은 소비에트 연방의 영토에 있게 되었다. 본고에서는 한인들의 귀환 문제가 발생한 과정, 조국으로의 귀환 염원이 국가의 압력에 부딪혔던 상황에 대한 상세한 설명을 제시한다. 소비에트 사할린 당국은 한인들이 사할린을 떠나는 것을 막기 위한 상당한 노력을 기울였는데, 새로운 섬 영토에 거주하게 되는 소비에트 러시아인들에게 그곳의 생활 경험이 필요했다는 것이 주된 이유이다. 1989년 이후가 되어서야 비로소 귀환을 위한 사회적 움직임이 합법적으로 존재할 수 있었다. 이를 통해 사할린 한인들은 자신의 목표와 요구 사항을 대중에게 알릴 수 있었고, 이는 국제적인 수준으로 진출하여 사할린 한인 첫 세대의 대한민국 귀환을 성공시킬 수 있었다. 한편, 사할린 한인 디아스포라의 젊은 세대가 러시아 사회에 충분히 통합된 지금의 새로운 상황에서, 사회적 조직에게는 러시아와 한국에서의 역할에 대한 재고 및 새로운 목표 수립이 요구된다.

영문 초록

The article deals with the history of the social movement of the Sakhalin Koreans, which began with the desire of the Koreans to return to their homeland in Korea, after the disintegration of the Japanese Empire and the loss of South Sakhalin. Sakhalin Koreans expressed their desire to return to their relatives and friends who remained in the homeland, including through the creation of the first public organizations. In the post-war period, the Sakhalin Koreans found themselves on the territory of the Soviet Union. The article gives a detailed description of the emergence of the problem of repatriation of Koreans - the expressed desire to return to their homeland came up against pressure from the state. The Soviet Sakhalin authorities made significant efforts to prevent the Koreans from leaving Sakhalin. The main reason for such a policy was the fact that the Soviet Russian population of the Sakhalin and Kurile Islands needed to get the experience of living on the island territory. The public movement for repatriation could legally operate only after 1989. The Sakhalin Koreans managed to attract the attention of the broad public to their goals and demands, enter the international level, and achieve the repatriation of the first generation of Sakhalin Koreans to the Republic of Korea. However, in the new conditions, when the youth of the Sakhalin Korean diaspora is sufficiently integrated into Russian society, the social movement needs new goals and a rethinking of its role in Russia and the Republic of Korea.
