국문 초록

본 연구는 거리 노숙인을 대상으로 건강 수준과 탈노숙 시도 경험 간의 관계에서 노숙인 지원서비스 이용 경험의 매개효과를 검증하였다. 이를 통해 거리노숙인의 탈노숙 성공을 위한, 보다 실효성 있는 지원 정책 마련에 자료를제공하고자 함에 연구의 목적을 두었다. 연구 목적 달성을 위해 부산지역 거리 노숙인 116명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 그 결과 첫째, 거리 노숙인의 건강수준(악화)은 노숙인 지원 서비스 이용 경험과 거리노숙인의 탈노숙 경험에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 둘째, 노숙인 지원서비스 이용경험이 거리노숙인의 건강수준과 거리노숙인의 탈노숙 경험 사이에서 매개효과를 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과에 따라 거리 노숙인의 탈노숙 성공을 위한 방안을 다음과 같이 제안하였다. 첫째, 시설 중심의 거리 노숙인 지원 서비스 전달체계를 다양화하여야 하며, 둘째, 자립 또는 시설보호 등과 같이 개인 욕구에 따른 서비스가 개발 및 보급되어야 한다. 셋째, 노숙인들이 자신에게 필요한 서비스를 인지할 수 있도록 서비스 정보접근성을 개선하여야 한다. 본 연구는 사회복지서비스 이용경험과 탈노숙 경험 등의관계를 실증적으로 규명하여 현실성 있는 대안을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

This study verified the mediating effect of the experiences of homeless people on the street in using relevant support services on the relationship between their health and attempts to escape homelessness. The analytic results serve as data for preparing more effective policies to support homeless people and ultimately encourage their successful escape from homelessness. A survey was conducted with 116 homeless people living on the street in the Busan area. The survey results showed that their deteriorating health had a positive effect on their experiences with support services for homeless people and an escape from homelessness. Second, their experiences using relevant support services had a mediating effect on the relationship between their health and attempts to escape homelessness. Based on the analytic results of this study, measures are proposed for encouraging homeless people on the street to successfully escape homelessness. First, the facility-oriented street homeless support service delivery system should be diversified, and second, services based on personal needs such as self-reliance or facility protection should be developed and distributed. Third, service information accessibility should be improved so that homeless people can recognize the services they need. This study proposed a realistic alternative by empirically identifying the relationship between the experience of using social welfare services and the experience of leaving homelessness.
