양육 어려움이 여성 한부모 임금근로자의 우울감에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

우리 사회에서 여성 한부모 가구의 비율이 높아지고 있으며, 최근의 연구결과는 불안정한 고용형태의 여성 한부모임금근로자는 고용불안정성으로 인한 추가적인 심리적 문제를 경험함을 보여준다. 이에 본 연구에서는 스트레스-취약성 이론에 근거하여 학령기 자녀를 둔 여성 한부모 임금근로자의 양육 어려움이 우울감에 미치는 영향과 고용형태의 조절효과를 살펴보았다. 2018 한부모가족실태조사 데이터(N=988)를 SPSS PROCESS macro V.4의 model 1로 분석하여 연구모형을 검증하였다. 분석 결과, 양육 어려움과 고용형태가 여성 한부모 임금근로자의 우울감에 유의미한 정적(+) 영향을 미쳤으며 두 변수 간 관계에서 고용형태의 조절효과가 유의하여, 불안정한 고용형태에 따라 양육 어려움을 경험하는 여성 한부모 임금근로자의 우울감이 더 심각해지는 경향이 발견되었다. 이를 바탕으로 여성 한부모 임금근로자의 양육 어려움과 우울감 및 불안정한 고용형태의 관계에 대해 논의하였으며, 여성 한부모 임금근로자의 정신건강을 증진시킬 수 있는 사회복지적 방안을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

As the proportion of female single-parent families has increased in Korea, recent research results show that single mothers with unstable jobs experience additional psychological problems due to their employment instability. Thus, this study examined the effects of parenting difficulties and employment status of employed single mothers with school-age children on their depressive mood and the moderating effect of employment status. Data from the Study on the Status of Single-Parent Families in 2018 (N=988) was analyzed by SPSS PROCESS macro V.4 model 1. The results show that higher levels of parenting difficulties and temporary employment resulted in higher levels of depressive mood, and there was a moderating effect of employment status. That is, the depression level of employed single mothers who experience parenting difficulties was found to be more serious depending on unstable employment status. Based on the results, the relationship among parenting difficulties, depressive mood and unstable employment status of employed single mothers was discussed. Also, social welfare policies and programs to improve the mental health of employed single mothers were suggested.
