빅데이터 리터러시 향상에 관한 연구

국문 초록

현재 사물인터넷(IoT), 빅데이터, 인공지능 등의 기술이 산업전반에 걸쳐 융합되고 있으며, 일상생활에도 서서히 스며들고 있다. 이러한 사회를 살고 있는 개인이 정보의 주체가 되어 정보를 정확히 읽고 이해하는 것을 넘어서 정보를 주체적으로 통합하고 비판적으로 바라볼 수 있는 능력을 갖추어야 한다. 본 연구는 디지털 정보에서 나아가 빅데이터에 대한 전반적인 이해와 통합적 분석, 비판적 수용 및 소통, 윤리의식을 함양할 수 있는 빅데이터 리터러시의 향상에 대한 검증을 하는 것이다. 본 연구는 H 대학교 ‘빅데이터 분석’을 수강하는 신입생들을 대상으로 검증하였다. 인문사회대, 경영대, 보건대, 문화예술체육대 등의 900 여 명을 대상으로 2 학기 초·말에 사전·사후조사를 실시하여 336 개의 자료를 분석에 이용하였다. 분석결과 사전검사에서는 빅데이터의 기초능력, 활용 및 개발능력, 윤리의식과 자기효능감과의 관계에서 유의미한 결과를 얻지 못하였으나, 사후검사에서 빅데이터의 기초능력, 활용 및 개발능력, 윤리의식 모두 자기효능감을 높이는 것으로 나타났다. ‘빅데이터 분석’교양과목은 전공에 관계없이 빅데이터에 대한 기초지식을 갖고 있지 않은 학생들의 인식을 전환하여 통합적 관점과 문제해결능력을 갖추게 하고, 미래사회에 필요한 인재가 갖추어야할 기초소양을 함양하는 데 한 몫을 하였다고 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

Currently, technologies such as the Internet of Things(IoT), big data, and artificial intelligence are converging across industries and are slowly permeating everyday life. Living in such a society, we must be the subject of information and have the ability to integrate and critically look at information beyond accurately reading and understanding information. This study goes beyond digital information to verify the improvement of big data literacy that can foster overall understanding and integrated analysis of big data, critical acceptance and communication, and ethical awareness. In order to nurture AI-centered future talents at H University, freshmen were verified with a focus on big data analysis, a basic liberal arts subject. Since it is a basic liberal arts course, 336 data were used for analysis by conducting pre ㆍ post-surveys at the beginning and end of the second semester targeting 900 freshmen, excluding some departments such as the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Business, College of Health, and College of Culture, Arts and Sports. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the basic ability of big data, the ability to utilize and develop, and the ethical consciousness all increased self-efficacy in the post-test. The 'Big data analysis' subject transforms the perception of students who do not have basic knowledge of big data regardless of their major, equips them with an integrated perspective and problemsolving ability, and cultivates the basic knowledge needed by talented people in the future society. It can be said that it played a part. Also, since big data is created and used throughout society regardless of major, it was an opportunity to feel firsthand that a sense of ethics and responsibility is needed rather than simply using big data.
