우발적 정서가 의사결정에 미치는 영향에 관한 탐색적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 분노, 슬픔, 행복에 초점을 맞추어 이러한 우발적 정서(incidental emotion)를유발하는 기존 방법을 개선한 후 그 효과를 세 개의 연구를 통해 알아보았다. 그 결과 널리사용되는 작문 과제인 “기분과 기억 과제(Strack, Schwarz, and Gschneidinger 1985)”에 간단히읽을 거리를 추가하는 것만으로도 실험 참가자들의 감정 경험을 강하게 유도할 수 있음을확인했다. 예상대로 목표한 우발 정서를 일관되게 성공적으로 유발하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한이렇게 유발된 우발적 정서가 독재자 게임, 최후통첩 게임, 반-공유 자원 딜레마 및 지네 게임과같은 다양한 의사결정 과제에도 영향을 미치는지 즉, 이월효과(carryover effect)가 존재하는지알아본 결과, 우발적 정서가 특정 방향으로 의사 결정 선택에 영향을 줄 수 있음을 확인했다.

영문 초록

This research reports on three studies that investigated the effectiveness of an updated emotion elicitation method, with a focus on incidental emotions, namely anger, sadness, and happiness. The studies found that by adding articles for participants to read to a commonly used writing task, the “mood and memory task (Strack, Schwarz, and Gschneidinger 1985)”, emotional experiences can be amplified. The method was successful in eliciting the target emotions consistently. Furthermore, the studies explored whether the carryover effect of incidental emotions influenced decision-making tasks, including the dictator game, the ultimatum game, the anti-commons dilemma, and the centipede game. The findings suggest that incidental emotions may have an impact on decision-making, indicating that induced emotions may influence decisions towards a particular direction.
