국문 초록

이 연구는 수학적 사고를 주제로 한 선행 연구의 내용으로부터, 학교 수학 수업에서 반드시 다루어야 할 수학적 사고의 요소로서 연역적 사고, 추상화, 수학적 창의의 세 가지를 추출하였다. 또한 이를 고려한 교육과정이 실제로 어떻게 구성될 수 있는지 그 구체적인 방안을 함께 제시하고 있다. 이러한 고찰은, 모든 사람이 초․중등학교에서 수학을 배워야 하는 이유를 답하는 데필요한 것이다. 어떠한 학문이 수학인지, 그리고 어떠한 사고방식이 수학적인지 판단하는 기준은 지식의 종류가 아니라, 지식을 구성하거나 체계화하는 방법이다. 따라서 본 연구는 수학과교육과정을 구성하는 첫 번째 근거와 기준은 내용이 아니라 사고여야 함을 역설한다.

영문 초록

This paper is to extract the elements of mathematical thinking as the necessities in school mathematics course from some precedents. As a result, three elements have been settled - deductive thinking, abstraction and mathematical creativity. And concrete plans are presented that how these can actually be considered to constrct curriculum. This consideration is necessary to answer the question of why everyone needs to study mathematics in elementary and secondary education levels. We determine if some discipline is mathematics, or if some way of thinking is mathematical, by ways of how they construct and organize their knowledge, not by the what knowledge they are dealing with. With this in mind, the author insists that we should construct curriculum on the ground of way of thinking, not on the ground of content knowledge.
