국문 초록

수학적 창의성의 의미를 단일하고 명확한 정의의 형태로 제시하는 것에는 어려움이 따른다. 이렇게 명확한 정의를 제시하기 어려울 때, 수학적 창의성의 의미가 사용되는 맥락이나 방식을 구분하여 유형화 하는 것은, 수학적 창의성 연구의 동향을 파악하고 후속 연구를 수행하는 데에유용하다. 이에 본 연구는 수학적 창의성의 유형화에 대한 기존의 연구를 분석하고 대안적인 유형화를 제안하는 데 목표를 둔다. 연구 결과로 제시한 세 가지 유형화 방안은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 수학적 창의성 발휘의 주체를 구분하여 유형화 하는 방안이다. 둘째, 산출물에 의존하여 창의성을 설명하는지 여부에 따라 유형화 하는 방안이다. 셋째, 수학 내에서 영역-특수의 창의성을 고려하는 방안, 곧 ‘기하-특수의 창의성’, ‘대수-특수의 창의성’, ‘확률과 통계-특수의 창의성’ 으로 유형화 하는 방안이다.

영문 초록

It has been considered difficult to define mathematical creativity with a singular clear concept. With being embroiled in controversy about the meaning, it would be useful to classify mathematical creativity instead of pursuing a singular clear definition as did in studies in creativity. Compared with studies in creativity, classification researches in mathematical creativity were sparsely conducted. This study aims to review how previous classifications in creativity and mathematical creativity were explored and how alternative classifications in mathematical creativity could be designed. Three classifications were suggested as a result of reviewing classifications in creativity, finding overall characteristics in studies to apply creativity within school mathematics, and analysing previous studies to classify mathematical creativity. First classification was suggested to categorize mathematical creativity by the subjects who create: mathematical creativity by great mathematicians, mathematical creativity by ordinary mathematicians, mathematical creativity by talented learners, and mathematical creativity by ordinary learners. Second classification depends on whether creative products are necessarily evaluated or not. Third classification was suggested to make distinction among geometry-specific creativity, algebra-specific creativity, and probability and statistics-specific creativity.
