영문 초록

‘Dong-gu Sustainable Development Goals (D-SDGs),’ a whole-of-government healthy city framework, which was established in 2020 made it possible for Gwangju Dong-gu to implement Health in All Policies (HiAP) in 2021 to consider health gap in the city. In addition, health gap across dongs was identified through a community needs assessment in 2020. Based on this assessment, customized healthy city programs were designed through community participation and HiAP approach in order to reduce the health gap. With the vision of ‘All citizens enjoying their health in Gwangju Dong-gu,’ Gwangju Dong-gu aimed ‘to reduce health gap across dongs’ through the following four strategies: First, strengthening the D-SDGs, second, reducing health gap according to community needs, third, expanding the opportunities of community participation, fourth, building supportive environments for health. Success factors of the intersectoral collaboration in health city programs in Gwangju Dong-gu included the mayor’s commitment, institutionalizing the mechanism of intersectoral collaboration by healthy city ordinance enactment. intersectoral communication through regular meetings of the administrative collaborative committee, and the shared agenda of D-SDGs and health equity. In addition, if the healthy neighborhood projects started in 2021 continues in the future in a way that community residents themselves find the health agenda and their solutions, these projects will become a good model of community development which is enabled by community empowerment.
