포스트모더니즘을 기반으로 한 유아미술교육 고찰

국문 초록

다원성, 개별성, 주체성 등으로 대변되는 포스트모더니즘 시대로의 변화 속에서 나타나는 다양한 교육의 변화와 개혁의 양상에 주목하고 이와 연관된 유아미술교육을 누리과정 미술 교육내용을 중심으로 고찰하였다. 포스트모더니즘 교육적 특징은 이미 유아교육에서 실행하 고 있는 구성주의 교육과정, 발현적 교육과정, 장애아 통합교육, 다문화교육에서 실재적, 실 천적으로 이행되고 있음을 확인할 수 있다. 포스트모더니즘 미술교육은 모더니즘의 전통적 인 표현위주의 교육에서 벗어나 시각문화교육, 창의·인지미술교육, 다문화 미술교육, 간학 문적 접근의 미술교육, 상징적 문화교육, 비평학습, 열린 미술교육, 공동체중심 미술교육으로 정리할 수 있다. 포스트모더니즘 유아교육과정에 미치는 의미를 기준으로 누리과정의 5세 예술경험영역 중 미술교육내용을 분석하여 이미 포스트모던의 요소가 누리과정 안에서도 실현 가능함을 확인하였다. 또한 3-5세 누리과정 교사용 지도서의 미술활동 유형들을 분석한 선행연구를 기 초로 분석한 결과 포스트모던 미술교육유형인 사진, 미디어아트 등 시각문화교육이 도입됨 을 확인 할 수 있었다. 그러나 포스트모더니즘 미술교육은 철학적, 윤리적, 실천적 이해를 기반하고 있기에 유아 들의 수준과 삶에 어떻게 접목할 수 있는지에 연구가 요구되고 있다. 본 연구는 아직 시도되 지 않은 포스트모더니즘 유아미술교육에 대한 초기 연구이고 연구자 개인의 주관적 의견이 다수 포함되어 후속연구가 필요하다.

영문 초록

This study features aspects of various changes and reforms in education brought about by the transition from the focus on modern objectivity, standardization, and universality to the highlight of postmodern diversity, individuality, and subjectivity in the context of their relationship to art. Major features of postmodern education have been already implemented in preschool education in the forms of constructivist curricula, expressionist education curricula, disability integrated education, and multicultural education. Postmodern art education has found its way out of modern education’s emphasis on traditional expressionism and has contributed toward visual cultural education, creativity cognitive art, multicultural art, art education in interdisciplinary approach, cultural symbolism, critical studies, open art, and community-based art education. We analyzed the contents of art education which 5 year-old children in Nuri Curriculum received and confirmed that the realization of the postmodern features was possible even in Nuri Program. Moreover, after reviewing previous studies on the art activities in teachers’ guide for 3-5 year-old preschoolers we found that postmodern types of visual culture education using pictures or media art were introduced to the present curricula. Still we need further research on how to implement the art education in line with postmodernism and how to adapt it into our children’s developmental stages or their lives. That is because the art education in accordance with postmodernism is broadly based on philosophical, ethical, and practical underpinnings. Because this study is at tottering stage in relation to early childhood art education under postmodernism and full of subjective opinions on the part of the researcher, more in-depth follow-up studies are needed.
