국문 초록

남북한은 각각 국가안보와 안전 필요욕구에 대해 만족하지 않고 있다. 그래서 남북한 각각의 주 관심은 안전, 방어, 억제 등의 논리를 추구하면서 상대의 공격으로부터 자국을 보호할 정도로 충분한 군사적 능력을 증대하는 것에 초점을 맞추고 있다. 이를 고려하면서, 본 논문은 가장 긴요한 필요욕구로서 생존과 안전에 중점을 둔 마스로우의 ‘욕구계층’ 이론 (Theory of Hierarchy of Needs)을 적용해 남북한 각각이 안전 욕구에 대해 어떻게 느끼고 있는 가를 알아보고 있다. 또한 한반도에서의 군사력 증강과 전쟁 가능성을 조명하면서, 상대에 대해 느끼는 적의 이미지와 안보에 대한 불안감에 대해 진단하고, 남북한의 억제논리와 전쟁억제를 위한 접근을 리차드슨의 군비모델을 적용해 묘사하고 있다. 이러한 사회심리학적 접근과 현실주의적 접근은 국가의 생존과 안전이 남북한에 중요하다는 것을 인식시키는 것이며, 이를 통해 한반도의 평화와 안전을 모색하는 것이다.

영문 초록

Each Korea feels dissatisfaction of security needs as well as a danger of its national security, so a main concern of each is directed to increase military capabilities enough to protect its own nation against the other's attack in pursuit of logics of safety, defense, deterrence, and others. Considering this, this paper intends to know how each Korea feels security needs, adopting the theory of hierarchy of needs focusing on survival and safety which has developed by Abraham Maslow. Then, it focuses on representing mirror images and insecurity feeling between North and South Korea, and illustrating arms construction and probability of war in the Korean peninsula. Analyzing the reality of the security issues, each Korea's efforts for deterrence of war and deterrence logic are depicted in pursuit of the Richardsonian arms model. These sociopsychological and realistic approaches are to recognize importance of national survival and security to two Koreas, and grope for peace and safety on the Korean peninsula.
