국문 초록

본 논문은 백성욱 박사의 교육철학에 관한 것이다. 그의 교육철학은 그의 교육관을 기초로 하여 성립한다. 그의 교육관은 첫째, 개인의 역할을 강조하고 있다. 둘째, 교육은 현실에서 개인의 인격함양과 수행으로 연결되어야 한다는 점을 주장하고 있다. 셋째, 교육은 궁극적으로 중생과 사회의 제도(制度)로 나아가야 한다는 것이다. 이러한 교육관을 기초로 하여 그는 자신의 교육철학을 주장하고 있다. 첫째, 그의 교육철학은 교육입국론으로 규정지을 수 있다. 교육입국론은 교육은 나라의 생존의 기반이라는 것이고 나라의 발전을 위해서는 반드시 교육이 기초되어야 한다는 것이다. 둘째, 그의 교육철학은 국민교육론으로 규정할 수 있다. 국민교육론은 계급, 계층, 남녀노소를 뛰어 넘어 국민이라면 누구나 다 교육을 받아 국민으로서 깨어있는 지성으로 국가와 민족에 헌신해야 한다는 교육론이다. 셋째, 그의 교육철학은 민주교육론으로 규정할 수 있다. 민주교육론은 인류의 보편적 정치제도이자 이념인 민주주의에 의거한 교육론이다. 마지막으로 그의 교육철학은 주체교육론으로 정의할 수 있다. 나의 자아실현과 정체성 확보를 위해서는 반드시 주체적 교육이 요구된다는 것이다. 나란 존재의 주체성을 기초로 해 나라와 민족에 대한 자부심과 자긍심을 갖게 하는 것이 바로 주체교육론이다.

영문 초록

This thesis is about Dr. Baek Sung-wook's philosophy of education. His philosophy of education is established based on his view of education. First, his view of education emphasizes the role of individuals. Second, it is argued that education should be linked to personal character development and training in reality. Third, education must ultimately move toward the system of people and society. Based on this view of education, he insists on his educational philosophy. The theory of entry into education is that education is the basis for the survival of the country, and education must be based for the development of the country. Second, his philosophy of education can be defined as the theory of national education. The theory of national education is an educational theory that goes beyond class, class, men and women of all ages, and that all citizens should be educated and devote themselves to the state and people with an awakening intelligence as a citizen. Third, his philosophy of education can be defined as a democratic education theory. Democratic education theory is an education theory based on democracy, which is a universal political system and ideology of mankind. Finally, his educational philosophy can be defined as the subject education theory. Subjective education is essential to secure my self-realization and identity. Based on the subjectivity of my existence, it is the subject education theory that makes me proud and proud of the country and the people.
