국문 초록

본 논문은 먼저 성(性)·정(情)과 관련된 퇴계의 도덕감정론을 살펴보고 이에 대한 이론적 배경을 근거로 일상 속에 활용할수 있는 유기의 도덕감정모델 및 프로그램 개발에 대한 제언을 하고자 하는데 그 목적이 있다. 그 논의의 핵심은우리가 어떻게 일상속에서 심(心)의 성정에 대한 주재 작용을 담보해 갈 수 있을지에 대한 것이다. 결론부터 말하자면 퇴계가 일관되게 강조한 것은 바로 경(敬)으로 이루어지는 존양(存養)과 성찰(省察)이다. 심미발의 상태 즉 심이 아직 대상사물을 접하지 않은 정(靜)의 상태에서는 경을 통한 존양을 그 수양의 방법으로 삼아 지각은 어둡지 않지만 사려는 생기지 않는[知覺不味 思慮未萌] 주체의 내적 조건을 강화하여 리발(理發)의 사단이 온전히 발현되거나 기발(氣發)의 칠정이 인욕에 흘러가지 않도록 주체의 온전성을 확보해야 한다. 한편 심이발의 상태 즉 심이 대상사물을 접한 동(動)의 상태에서는 경을 통한 성찰을 그 수양의 방법으로 삼게 된다. 사단의 도덕감정은 그 발현되는 기미를 포착해서 내안의 천리를 확인하는 동시에 사단의 발현 중에 인욕에 가리게 된 과정을 점검하여 향후 사단의 확충방안을 모색하는 공부가 필요하다. 칠정의 일반감정은 그 발현되는 기미를 포착하여 칠정이 절도에 맞도록 궁리하며 혹 절도에 맞지 않아 악으로 흐른 과정을 점검하여 향후 칠정의 절제방안을 모색하는 공부가 요청된다.

영문 초록

The paper aims at examining Toe-Gye's moral emocional theory related to nature(性) and emotion(情) and making suggestions on the development of a moral emocional model and program of Confucianism thac can be used in daily life based on the theoretical background. The core of the discussion is how one can enable the governing funccion over the nature and emotion of the mind in one's daily life. To put the conclusion first, what Toe-Gye consistently emphasized is Cllilyang(存養) and Xingcha(省察) through Jing(敬). In the scare of the llilaroused mind-heart(心未發), where the mind has not yet touched the objeas, Cunyang through Jing is considered as the method of cultivation. In this way, the inner condition of the Subject(主體), where the perceptual awareness(知覺) is nor dark, and the refleaive thinking(思廬) does not arise, is reinforced. The integrity of the Subject must be ensured so that The Four Beginnings(四端) by the arousal of the Principle(理發) are fully manifested, or the arousal of the Energy(氣發) by the Seven Emotions(七情) does not flow into human desire. On the other hand, in the state of the aroused mind-heart(心巳發), where the mind has couched the objeas, Xingcha through Jing is considered as the method of cultivation. It is necessary that one checks the heavenly principle(天理) within oneself by catching the signs of the arousal of the Four Beginnings' moral emotions, as well as one studies the process of finding ways to expand the Four Beginnings by examining the process of how the Four Beginnings on arousal are covered by hwnan desire.
