단군세기와 행촌 이암

국문 초록

『단군세기』는 고려말 행촌 이암李嵒(1297~1364)의 저작이다. 『단군세기』에는 초대 단군왕검에서 마지막 47대 고열가 단군에 이르기까지 2096년간의 단군조선사가 편년체로 기록되어 있다. 본 논문은 행촌 이암이 『단군세기』를 저술했던 고려 시대 상황과 혼란한 시기 수문하시중에 올랐던 행촌의 행적을 따라가면서 그가 은둔했던 천보산과 청평산, 그리고 『단군세기』를 저술했던 강화도라는 공간이 갖는 역사적 의미를 살펴본다. 또한, 청평산인 이명과 복애거사 범장, 그리고 행촌 이암 세 사람이 민족을 주체로 세운 사서를 저술하게 된 계기가 된 ‘천보산 결의’ 즉, 천보산 태소암에서 소전거사로부터 신서와 역사의 진결을 받게 된 장소가 기존에 알려진 것처럼 경기도 양주 천보산이 아니라 고려 초에 선불에 능통했던 이자현이 은거했던 춘천 청평산과 청평사였을 가능성을 검토한다. 또한, 『단군세기』와 『규원사화』, 『삼국유사』 등 다른 사서와 비교검토하면서 『단군세기』가 갖고 있는 독자적인 역사체계와 행촌의 후손 이맥의 『태백일사』와 차이점을 살펴보면서 그 사료적 가치를 고찰한다. 끝으로 단재 신채호와 석주 이상룡의 역사 인식과 비교하여 일부 주장처럼 『단군세기』가 이들에게 영향받아 근대 시기에 저작된 위작인지 여부를 검토한다.

영문 초록

Dangun-segi (檀君世紀) is a historical book written by Haeng-chon Lee Am (杏村 李 嵒, 1297-1364) in the late Goryeo Dynasty. In Dangun-segi, the history of 2,096 year Dangun-Joseon (檀君朝鮮) from the first Dangun Wang-geom (檀君王儉) to the last 47th Dangun (檀君), is recorded in chronology. This paper examines the historical significance of Cheon-bo (天寶) Mountain, Cheong-pyeong (淸平) Mountain, and Gang-hwa (江華) Island, while following the situation of the Goryeo Dynasty at the time when Haeng-chon (杏村) wrote Dangun-segi and Haeng-chon during the chaotic period. In addition, we look at the reason why the three people, Lee Myeong (李茗), Beom jang (范樟), and Lee Am, wrote the nationalist librarian, that is, the “Resolution of Cheonbosan Mountain” that the three met and resolved. The three will be taught a secret book by a Sojeon-geosa (素全居士) at Tae-so hermitage (太素庵) in Cheon-bo Mountain, which is not Cheon-bo Mountain in Yangju, Gyeong-gi Province, as is known, but Cheong-pyeong Mountain in Chun-cheon, where Lee Ja-hyun (李資玄, 1051~1125), who was fluent in Zen and Buddhism, lived in early Goryeo. In addition, by comparing and reviewing Dangun-segi and other librarians, the historical value of Dangun-segi is considered by comparing the difference between the independent historical system contained in Dangun-segi and Taebaek-Ilsa(太白逸史) by Lee Maek (李陌), a descendant of Haeng-chon. Finally, compared with the historical perception system of Shin Chae-ho (申采浩, 1880~1936) and Lee Sang-ryong (李相龍, 1858~1932), we examine whether Dangun-segi was a forgery that was written in the modern era due to the influence of nationalists as some people argued.
