국문 초록

최근 대기업뿐만 아니라 창업기업에게도 ESG경영에 대한 중요성이 강조되고 있다. 글로벌 시대를 맞이하여 국내외 모든 기업들이 환경(Environment), 사회(Social), 지배구조(Governance)에 대한 요구사항에 부합하기 위하여 전사적으로 조직을 개편하고 ESG 중심으로 사업의 방향을 혁신 중이다. 국내시장의 경우에는 일부 대기업들 중심으로 ESG경영을 실제 실천하는 사례들이 점차 늘어나고 있다. 이를 위해 2022 단국대학교 글로벌벤처전략연구소가 조사한 ⌜2022년 창업환경에 대한 창업자 인식조사⌟ 데이터를 활용하여 창업가의 창업생태계에 대한 인식이 ESG경영의 지배구조에 미치는 영향에 대해 회귀분석을 통해 검증하고, 이들 관계에 대한 창업기업의 재무적, 비재무적 성과의 조절효과를 검증하고자 한다. 더 나아가 본 연구는 창업가의 창업생태계에 대한 인식이 창업기업 ESG경영의 지배구조에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가에 대한 연구결과를 제시하여 창업시장에서의 ESG경영에 대한 이론적 기반을 제공하고자 한다. 금번 연구는 창업가의 창업생태계에 대한 인식이 긍정적일수록 ESG경영의 지배구조에 대한 필요성이나 준비성이 있을 것이라는 계획된 행동이론(Theory of Planned Behavior. TPB)에 근거를 두고 규명해 보았다. 연구의 결과로 창업생태계에 대한 인식이 창업기업의 ESG경영의 지배구조에 미치는 영향은 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미쳤으며, 창업기업의 재무적, 비재무적 성과 정도에 따라 창업생태계에 대한 인식 및 ESG경영의 지배구조에 대한 조절효과를 분석한 결과 비재무적성과에 대한 조절효과는 기각되었지만 재무적 성과에 대한 조절효과는 스타트업 특성상 재무적 성과지표 도출이 어려워 실제로 엄격한 통계 기준치(95% 신뢰도)에 의하면 기각이지만, 통계적 기준치(90% 신뢰도)를 완화하여 본다면 어느 정도의 조절효과는 있다고 볼 수 있다.

영문 초록

Recently, the importance of ESG management is being emphasized not only for large companies but also for start-up companies. Faced with the global era, all domestic and foreign companies are reorganizing their organization and innovating their business direction around ESG in order to meet the requirements for environment, social, and governance. In the case of the domestic market, cases of actual ESG management being practiced by some large companies are gradually increasing. However, in the case of start-up companies, preparations for ESG management are not properly prepared, and there are very few cases where they are actually applied in the corporate field. However, if start-ups completely ignore or ignore ESG management, they will face considerable difficulties in the future industrial competition environment and will inevitably receive criticism from consumers and shareholders. Accordingly, this study intends to present the research results of how entrepreneurs' perceptions of the start-up ecosystem affect the governance structure of start-up companies' ESG management.Furthermore, the more positive the entrepreneur's perception of the start-up ecosystem, the more the necessity or readiness for the governance structure of ESG management is investigated based on the Theory of Planned Behavior. The purpose of this study is to verify the moderating effect on the perception of the startup ecosystem and the governance structure of ESG management according to the degree of performance of the company.
