국문 초록

자동차 산업은 에너지, 환경 및 기후에 지대한 영향을 미친다. 이에 중국 정부는 녹색혁신을 촉진시키기 위한 다양한 규제들을 발표해 왔다. 그러나 환경규제와 녹색혁신의 관계에 대한 상이한 결론들이 존재한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 규제 내용에 따른 녹색혁신의 결과를 자동차 라이프사이클에 따라 분석하는 것을 목표로 한다. 본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 환경규제를 지휘통제(command and control; CAC)와 시장기반 인센티브(market-based incentives; MBI)로 구분하고 자동차의 라이프사이클에 따라 분석하였다. 분석 결과 중국 자동차산업의 환경규제에서 CAC 유형은 자동차 라이프사이클의 모든 단계에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 MBI 유형은 신에너지 자동차의 판로촉진 단계에 주로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 중국 정부의 환경규제 분석 내용을 기반으로 BYD의 녹색혁신을 분석한 결과 CAC 유형은 전 단계에 MBI 유형은 설계, 생산, 사용 단계에서 영향을 미친 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 개발도상국 자동차산업을 대상으로 Porter의 가설에 대한 논리를 풍부하게 하고, 자동차 제조사가 녹색 혁신을 보다 효과적으로 실행할 수 있도록 실무적 시사점을 제공한다.

영문 초록

The auto industry has a profound impact on energy, environment and climate. Chinese government has issued various regulations to promote its green development. However, there are different conclusions, the relationship between environmental regulation and green innovation. So, this study aims to analyze regulation orientations and guide green innovation priorities in different life cycle phases. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, we classify the environmental regulations into command and control (CAC) and market-based incentives (MBI) and analyzes them according to the life cycle of automobiles. The analysis shows that environmental regulation of China’s auto industry is primarily based on CAC type, which is relatively equally distributed in each stage of auto life cycle. However, MBI type is more reflected in market promotion of new energy vehicles. As a result of analyzing BYD's green innovation based on the analysis of the Chinese government's environmental regulations, it was found that the CAC type affected all stages and the MBI type affected the design, production, and use stages. This study enriches applied research of Porter’s hypothesis in auto industry of developing countries and provides management inspiration for manufacturers to effectively implement green innovation.
