국문 초록

이 글의 연구목적은 한국에서 ‘국가보훈학’의 새로운 개념정립과 관련하여 그 개념 속에 한반도 통일의 함의된 필요성을 규명함으로써 국가보훈과 한반도 통일을 위한 국가보훈학의 개념 정립방향을 모색하는 데에 있다. 그에 따른 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 국가보훈학의 개념정립을 위해 국가보훈의 시원(始原), 국가보훈과 국가보훈학의 개념, 국가보훈학의 성격을 규정했다. 둘째, 국가보훈학 개념 속에 한반도통일의 함의 필요성은 시대의 변화에 따라 국가보훈의 가치의식, 국가보훈의 정치ㆍ경제ㆍ사회ㆍ문화 등 제 분야의 통합이라는 전제 하에 한반도 통일 또는 통합, 탈냉전 이후 협력 및 통합 현상에 따른 한반도 통일의 창출 기회와 도전 등에서 찾아보았다. 셋째, 국가보훈과 한반도 통일을 위한 국가보훈학의 개념은 남과 북의 화해와 협력, 한반도 평화의 구축, 남북경제공동체의 건설, 동북아 및 국제사회의 기여 등이 함의되는 방향에서 새롭게 정립되어야 할 것이라고 주장했다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this paper is to set up the concept of the studies of veterans welfare by studying the necessity of the unification of Korean peninsula which implicit in the meaning of veterans welfare. The results of the research are as follows. First, in order to set up the concept of the studies of veterans welfare, this paper defined the concept of the veterans welfare and the studies of veterans welfare, the origin of the veterans welfare, and the characteristics of the studies veterans welfare. Second, The necessity of the unification of Korean peninsula which implicit in the concept of the veterans welfare can be traced not only in values of the veterans welfare but also in the integrating function of the veterans welfare in the field of politics, economy, society, and culture etc. Third, the concept of the studies of veterans welfare should be redefined in the direction for the reconciliation and cooperation of North and South Korea, building peace in Korean peninsula, establishment of Korean economic community, and the contribution to Northeast Asia and international society.
