국문 초록

본고는 인간의 역사만큼이나 오래된 고금의 인간학적 통찰에 관한 물음과 정의를 신학적 관점으로, 즉 ‘신학적 인간’을 탐구하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 중세의 신학적 인간학은 신본주의를 근간으로, 인간을 보편자에 예속된 개별자로 이해했다. 근대에는 인본주의를 주축으로, 인간을 “합리적이고 객관적인 이성을 가진 중심적 주체”로 이해했다. 그리고 탈근대에는 자아 중심의 인간학이 해체되고 인간을 탈중심적 자아 개념으로 해석했다. 신학은 이와 같은 다채로운 인간 규정에 대해 시대에 따른 각각의 신학적 인간학으로 대응했다. 중세에 대해서는 인간의 원죄와 자유의지, 하느님의 은총과 칭의에 관한 개념으로, 근대에는 주체자로서의 인간의 선의지와 역사의 진보를 향한 희망과 자율적 주체성을 중심으로, 그리고 탈근대에는 타자성과 책임 있는 자아의 개념을 등장시켰다. 하지만 시대의 산물로 등장한 이와 같은 인간 규정에 대한 신학적 대응이 출현했다는 사실은 인간이 총체적이고 종합적으로 규정될 수 없는 모호한 존재, 그리고 확정되지 않은 존재라는 사실을 방증한다. 따라서 본 연구는 인간의 본질에 관한 총체적인 정의에 대한 한계를 인식하며 신학적 인간을 ‘관계’의 관점에서 재고함으로써 관계적 인간으로서의 신학적 의의를 탐색해 보고자 한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this paper is to explore the questions and definitions of anthropological insights as old as human history from a theological perspective, that is, a 'theological human being'. The theological anthropology of the Middle Ages understood human beings as the individual subordinated to the universal based on the theocentrism. In modern times, human beings were understood as “a central subject with rational and objective reason” led by humanism. And in the postmodern era, ego-centered anthropology was dismantled and human beings were interpreted as a decentralized self-concept. Theology responded to these diverse human definitions with theological anthropology of each era. In the Middle Ages, it is the concept of human original sin and free will, God's grace and justification. In modern times, it focuses on the good will of man as a subject and hope and autonomous subjectivity for the progress of history. And it introduced the concept of otherness and the responsible self in the postmodern era. However, the emergence of such a theological response to human definitions, which emerged as a product of the times, proves that humans are ambiguous and unconfirmed beings that cannot be defined collectively and comprehensively. Therefore, this study aims to explore the theological significance as human beings of relationship by reconsidering the theological human from the perspective of 'relationship', recognizing the limitations of the overall definition of human nature.
