국문 초록

기독교는 “네 이웃을 네 몸과 같이 사랑하라”는 명령 속에서 그 존재의미를 확인하며 활동을 계속하여 왔던 것이다. 물론 여러 가지 정황과 환경 속에서 변질과 변화의 반복의 역사 속에 있지만 기독교의 신앙의 본질 즉 하나님 사랑과 이웃 사랑은 동일 선상에 있다는 개념 사상은 기독교가 이 땅에 존재하는 날 까지는 버릴 수 없는 사실인 것이다. 한편 이러한 진리 속에 있는 이것이 우리나라 기독교사회복지에 대한 교회지도자의 생각과 활동을 확인할 필요가 있다. 즉 우리나라 기독교의 기독교사회복지 본질은 일반적인 성격과 유사한 기반을 가지고 있으면서, 동시에 독특한 바탕을 가지고 있음이 드러났다. 자원봉사철학이라는 바탕과 함께 기독교의 신앙이라는 독특성이 그 본질을 형성하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 기독교사회복지의 본질적인 내용은 성서 속에서 지지를 받는 것으로 구약과 신약 속에서 그 명확한 활동과 사상이 드러나고 있다. 기독교사회복지활동은 그 형태와 의의에 있어 일반적인 사회봉사와는 공통적인 성격을 가지고 있으면서도 한편으론 구별되는 부분이 있다. 한국 기독교의 활동과 그 과제를 살펴보면 한국교회의 대 사회봉사의 역할이 초기에 긍정적인 평가와 아울러 선도적이었음을 발견할 수 있었다. 그러나 중기와 후기로 이전되면서 한국 사회의 여러 정황과 맞물려 그 실천적인 평가가 후퇴하게 되었다는 것을 볼 수 있었다. 이러한 점을 그 시대적인 상황과 밀접한 관계가 있다고 생각된다. 한국 기독교의 활동에 대한 역사적인 점검과 아울러 중요한 몇 가지 조사들을 통해 한국기독교의 기독교사회복지에 대한 밀도 있는 추적을 하여보았는데, 그 결과 여러 가지 개선점과 시사점을 발견할 수 있었다. 위의 고찰을 바탕으로 한국 교회의 기독교사회복지 활성화를 위한 몇 가지 제안점을 제시하였다. 먼저 기독교사회복지활동의 저해요인으로 지적받는 개교회주의, 개인구원주의, 수직적 신앙주의의 점검을 지적했고, 또 기독교사회복지활동에 대한 올바른 이해가 필요하다는 것을 제안했다. 또 기독교사회복지활동에 참여할 수 있는 전략들과 내용들에 대한 점검 또한 필요함을 제시하였다. 그리고 미시적인 면에서의 접근을 위한 점검을 보다 밀도있게 수행해야 할 것과 교회의 사회화 필요성을 말했으며, 교회들 간의 연합과 협동의 필요도 제안되었다. 마지막으로 바른 신앙에 입각한 기독교사회복지활동이 되도록 격려할 수 있는 크리스챤들의 정기모임과 교육의 필요성을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The existence of Christianity is verified through the command of “Love your neighbor as yourselw”, and it has been practiced continuously. In the past, belief of Christianity has been changed positively and negatively. However, the fact that love of God and loving others are equally important in Christianity can never be dismissed. It is necessary to examine whether the principle is implied in the notion and activity of church leaders in our country’s Christian social work. In other words, social work and Christian social work based on the principle of Christianity share general characteristics and similar foundation. At the same time, however, Christian social work has its own uniqueness. The foundation of Christian social work is supported by the Bible, and the movements and notion of that principal is appeared in the Old Testament and New Testament. The activity of Christian social work has similar quality in the form and meaning of general social work, but it has distinctiveness at the same time. The movement of volunteering by Korean Christian’s activity was positively evaluated, and it was most influential movement in the beginning. However, its active movement was weakened due to the circumstances of Korean society during the middle and latter period. This degeneration can be caused by that periodical situation. The historical analysis and other evaluations of Korean Christianity’s activity are performed. Korean church’s Christian social work is pursued based on these assessments. Several improvements and suggestions are discovered from this. Based on the examination, several suggestions can be made for the active involvement of Christian church of Christian social work. It is been known that the hindrances of its active participation are individualism, self-salvation, and vertical belief. First, these hindrances should be evaluated. Furthermore, it is necessary to examine the approach for the involvement in the Christian social work. The review of its specific approach should be conducted more precisely, and church’s socialization is needed. The association and cooperation between churches are also necessary. Lastly, regular meetings and education to support Christian social work with right belief are suggested.
