니체와 쇼펜하우어에 있어서 예술의 치료적 양면성

국문 초록

인간은 호모 에스테티쿠스(Homo Aestheticus)이다. 인간은 왜 심미적인가? 인간이 심미적일 수 없다면 어떤 일이 생길까? 심미적 경험은 인간의 삶에 어떤 영향을 미치는가? 권태의 위험과 이를 극복하기 위한 쾌락 추구가 수반하는 위험성에 대한 연구가 최근에는 주로 심리치료나 의학 쪽에서 다루어져 왔다. 그러나 철학의 영역에서는 이미 고대부터 성욕에 대한 논의 속에서 이와 같은 성 중독에 상응하는 문제 영역들이 다루어져 왔다. 그리고 이와 같은 논의는 쇼펜하우어에게 있어서 의지나 성욕과 관련된 논의 속에서 진단적이며 치료적인 논의를 구체화시키고 있으며, 니체에 있어서는 ‘이론적 인간’에 대한 비판 속에서 진단적 논의가 그리고 디오니소스적 도취나 아폴론적 꿈이라는 경험 속에서 심미성을 중심으로 하는 치료적 논의가 이루어지고 있다. 쇼펜하우어와 니체에 있어서 진단적 양상이 염세주의나 허무주의라고 하는 시대적 현상으로 진단되는가 하면, 이와 같은 시대적 고통을 치유하기 위한 방법의 연구 또한 진지하게 다루어져 있다. 본 논문에서는 이와 같은 현대의 성 중독에 대한 기존의 치료적 연구를 살펴보는 동시에 주로 니체의 논의를 중심으로 하여 니체와 쇼펜하우어의 철학 속에서 다루어지는 성중독과 관련된 진단적 논의와 치료적 논의를 살펴본다. 이로써 한편으로는 현대인들의 고통의 중요한 영역인 성 중독에 대한 논의에 철학이 기여할 수 있는 지점을 모색해 보고, 다른 한편으로는 쇼펜하우어와 니체 철학이 지니고 있는 철학 치료적 위상을 정립해본다.

영문 초록

Humans are homo aestheticus. Why are we aesthetic? What happens, if there is a lack of aesthetic experience? How will this affect our lives? Recently the research of the risk of weariness and the danger accompanied by the pleasure seeking to get it over has been treated mainly in the field of psychotherapy or medical science. But the realms of the matter corresponding to sexual addiction has been already treated in the argument over sexual desire in the area of philosophy from ancient times. In such an argument, Schopenhauer embodies the diagnostic and therapeutic discussion in the argument related to will or sexual desire, whereas Nietzsche develops a diagnostic argument in the theoretical human and a therapeutic argument focused on aesthetics in the experiences a dionysian intoxication or an apollonian dream. This diagnostic aspect appears in the contemporary phenomenon called pessimism or nihilism, while the research on the method to cure such an epochal agony is also treated seriously by Schopenhauer and Nietzsche. In this research, we intend to review the previous therapeutic study on such a sexual addiction in the contemporary times and inquire into the diagnostic argument and the therapeutic argument related to sexual addiction covered in the philosophy of Nietzsche and Schopenhauer centered on Nietzsche’ position on art. And further we will grope for a point which philosophy can contribute to in the argument over sexual addiction which is an important realm of the agony of modern people on one hand, and establish a therapeutic phase which Schopenhauer and Nietzsche’s philosophy has on the other hand.
