국문 초록

젊은이들이 처해있는 정신문화적 위기와 실효성이 의심받고 있는 한국 청년교육의 현실 속에서 니체의 몸철학과 문화 및 교육비판을 한번 되새겨본다면 한국 청년교육의 방향을 잡는데 많은 도움이 될 수 있을 것이다. 니체는 이미 자신이 살았던 19세기에 지식과 실용 위주로 치닫는 청년교육을 우려했고, 그러한 교육의 원인을 학문적 혹은 “이론적 낙관주의”로 보고 경계했다. 그는 지식위주의 교육은 인간을 “교양속물”로 만들고, 인간의 삶과 “자연의 본능”을 파괴하고, 나아가 인류를 “실천적 염세주의” 속에 빠뜨린다고 지적했다. 그리고 그는 “동정심, 희생심, 영웅심의 자극”과 같은 “가장 숭고한 윤리적 행위들”과 얻기 힘든 “영혼의 고요”는 결코 논리적 메커니즘의 산물이 될 수 없다는 것을 명백히 하였다. 이점은 특히 오늘날 비판적 사고 교육만을 선호하는 도덕과 교육 관계자들이 귀담아 들어야할 사항이다. 그리고 인간은 몸을 통해서만 자기를 형성하고 실현할 수 있기 때문에 “몸을 경멸하는 자”는 더 이상 자기 자신을 뛰어넘어 창조할 수 없을 뿐만 아니라 몰락한다는 생각, 육체가 정신에 의존하는 것이 아니라, 오히려 정신이 몸에 의존함으로 건강한 몸에 건강한 정신이 깃든다는 니체의 생각은 감성교육과 실천적 행동교육을 등한시하는 한국의 청년교육 현실을 변화시킬 수 있는 좋은 길잡이가 될 수 있다.

영문 초록

Young people are these days in a crisis of moral culture and the youth education of Korea is in doubt of its practical effect. In this situation it will be a great help for desirable course of the Korean youth education, if we ruminate on Nietzsche's thoughts of body and his critique of culture and education in 19th century. Nietzsche was much concerned about the youth education running up just for knowledge and for practical use. He looked upon the cause of such an education as an academical or a “theoretical optimism” and took precautions against it. He pointed out that the education just for knowledge makes a human being an “educated Philistine”, and further destroys human lives and the “instinct of nature”, and lastly leads mankind into a“practical pessimism”. He made clear that such “the most sublime ethical deeds” as “the stirrings of pity, self-sacrifice, and heroism”and the “calm sea of the soul, so difficult to attain”are never products of a logical mechanism. This point of view needs all attention especially on the part of the moral educators who have these days a preference only for the critical thinking training. According to Nietzsche, since human beings can constitute and realize themselves only through the body, “the despisers of the body”are cannot create anything more beyond themselves and go so far as to ruin themselves. The body doesn't depend on the soul, but the soul depends on the body, thus mens sana in corpore sano. These thoughts of Nietzsche can be a good guideline for changing of the current Korean youth education which gives little attention to the emotion and behavior of the youth.
