한반도 분단의 대내외적 원인에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 논문은 한국의 분단은 구조적으로는 자본주의와 사회주의의 세계대립, 냉전대결을 포함하여 역사적으로는 부분적으로 개항 이래 식민지시대부터 내재하며 대립해온 민족독립과 근대국가건설의 노선이 국제냉전과 만나면서 최종적으로 봉인된 것을 의미한다. 1945년 이후 분단문제는 지금까지 한국의 내부와 외양, 국가전략, 상호 관계를 결정지은핵심요소의 하나였다. 한국분단사 연구에서 많은 주제들이 제기될 수있다. 그러나 어느 것도 38˚선 획정문제 이상으로 중요성을 강조하기는어렵다. 분단의 명시적 출발점이었던 38˚선 획정으로 인하여 영토분단이 그리고 남북정권의 수립으로 체제분단이 이루어졌고 마침내 동족상잔의 전쟁이 민족분단을 초래하였고, 이후에는 그것이 휴전선으로 전환되어 현재까지 분단체제를 지속시켜 왔기 때문이다. 이처럼 38˚선은 그것이 획정된 시점에서부터 오늘에 이르기까지 우리 민족의 삶의 조건을역사적으로 규정지어 놓은 비극의 분단선이라고 할 수 있다. 미 소는각각 남북에서 우익과 좌익을 견인해서 단독정부를 수립함으로서 소기의 점령 목적을 달성했다. 국내정치세력은 외세에 의해 주어진 분할점령 구도 하에서 미 소 각각의 우호적 정부 수립 기도를 극복하려고 노력하기 보다는 이에 영합해 분단구조 창출에 기여했음으로 외인은 내인을 견인했으며 국제적 성격이 우세한 복합형 분단은 한반도에서 구축되었다. 분단구조는 민족 내부의 분열적 요인과 결합되면서 고착화되기시작하였다. 따라서 한반도분단의 원인과 과정 논의에 있어서 외부요인인 미 소관계 못지 않게 좌 우 그리고 중간파 정치세력의 지도자들 그리고 한국민 전체의 미성숙이 자리잡고 있다. 현재의 우리 민족의 삶을제약하는 본질적 요인이 분단이며, 우리 민족의 최대의 과제가 재통일이라면, 분단의 원인을 사실에 입각, 정확히 규명하는 것이 필요하다.

영문 초록

Over the past three decades, the division of Korea has been persistent while we have observed fundamental global changes such as the collapse of the Communism, the end of Cold War, the integration of international trade, and the 9-11. Combined with the North Korean nuclear issues, the division of Korea is particularistic and regional specific. In practice, the costs caused by the division of Korea are substantial, persistent due to the particularistic aspects inherent in Korean Question. The issue of the division of Korea is the most critical question to researchers of Korean Studies since the end of the Second World War. It pertains to almost every constraint and enabler with respect to the reality of Korean people and the future path of Korea such as the nation formation, nationalism, modernity, peace and unification, and democracy. The issue of the division of Korea constructs the core element of the Korean Question since 1945, which is the consequence and the most critical aspect of the Korea Question from various levels of analyses. The issue of the division of Korea, thus, has practical and theoretical implications to every area of practices and the studies of Humanities. Understanding the historical situation around the second world war is an important topic in the research of the history of the division of Korea. The division of Korea was largely determined by foreign forces and the alliances among Korean independence movement forces were not materialized, determining the prototypical structure of the division of Korea. There are several substantive issues in the research of the history of the division of Korea. The most pertinent issue, however, would be the establishment of the 38th Parallel, which led the division of the Korean territory and of political systems, and the Korean War. The 38th Parallel line turned to be the Military Demarcation Line after the Korean War, conditioning the fundamentals of Koreans in tragic manners. The division of Korea is the fundamental constraint to the possibilities of Korean, thus the understanding the causes of the division of Korea is essential as the most important problem to Korean is reunification. Aiming for contributing to the understanding the causes of the division of Korea, this paper shows the multiplicity and flexibility of the issues causing the division of Korea.
